Re: Lawn burweed pre emergent
I use Dimension, but lawn burweed is not labeled as one of the weeds it kills, and looking at the label for Stonewall it doesn't list it either...I have read here and there that atrazine acts as a pre and post on burweed, but whether it is suitable for bermuda some have said yes and some have said n...

Lawn burweed pre emergent
Orange County in Southern California the past two weeks have been in the 80s and have seen everything green up in the lawn including those pesky lawn burweeds. The unusual warmth seems to be getting the roses growing too. I usually hit those with Celsius but wanted to see if anyone had success with ...

Re: How/what to do in the spring?
I cut it as low as the reel goes on the manual American reel mower. It seems the Yukon never grows past.75 inches.

Re: How/what to do in the spring?
Once a month 39-0-0 Leesco 50% slow release. I did do an inch every 5 days during the summer but when it got over 95 every 3. Now since the temps are around the mid 70s every 7 days.

How/what to do in the spring?
In May 2012 I seeded a bare yard with Yukon seed and it filled in 70%. This year one significant bare spot slowly filled in and the rest of the lawn did not really get dense at all. Thin. Looking at the picture one can say that the temperatures are causing it to go dormant but the front yard the Tif...

Camellia leaves browning
Starting around August I noticed the leaf tips starting to brown a bit. Also, about the same time we experienced the hottest temps this summer for pretty much the whole month straight. mid to high 90s and a few 100+ days. It receives full sun for a little more than half a day then shade. I have wate...

Re: Tree roots and my lawn.
Those little suckers are already shriveling up from the RoundUp. Yeah maybe wishful thinking. Wish there was a 6 foot wall going down-but that might not stop em either I suppose.

Re: Tree roots and my lawn.
Yup, its a ton of suckers. I wish I could run a deep trench on my side of the property line. But, I'm sure that has its problems and may not work, or if I hit roots then it will kill off the tree.

Re: Tree roots and my lawn.
I've painted them with RoundUp in my flower beds and they seem to keep coming up in the same location. No issues with the tree next door.

Tree roots and my lawn.
I have no large trees in my backyard, but my northern neighbor has a couple of trees whose roots I feel are extending into my yard (expected). In the middle of my lawn, there are little sproutings(correct term?) coming up. What's the best way to handle this short and long-term? RoundUP? http://s23.p...

Re: Crazy dog walkers
That's just ridiculous. I'd be mortified if my dog did that in front my neighbor. I would be cleaning it up immediately while apologizing profusely. Why don't you do a midnight chemical application to her lawn? I'm thinking using some RU to make a certain 5-letter word in 15-foot-tall letters... :t...

O,
Thanks for the input. lots to take in.
I said I used neem oil for the powdery mildew, maybe something else in the product that fights it http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bayer-Advanc ... dz2fvk3uSo

Re: Rose disease or nutrient issue
Those black leaf margins followed by yellow to brown leaves have ceased. Looks like it is all normalizing. Before switching to Mills Magic Mix and Mills EasyFeed I used totally synthetic (Vigoro). I am not convinced Mills products are living up to my expectations, especially the EasyFeed. I wanted t...

Re: Internet controllers
I looked at several others, but nothing came close at the price point. I don't know how I got along without it. My only problem was my fault - I had it firewalled too tightly, and then turned off the connection to it when I went on vacation. Andy, I installed the IC couple of weeks ago and enjoy th...

Rose disease or nutrient issue
The past two months I have been noticing one of my best producing grandiflora, Gold Medal, brown at the edge of the leaves and then would yellow then brown and spread toward the center and stems. My soil tests showed low K previously. http://s18.postimg.cc/l2ex84bud/photo_1.jpg http://s16.postimg.cc...

Re: Will this get better?
As a final thought, can you think of anything that you have noticed different about the underperforming roses? One thing that does come to mind is that the previous owner watered everyday. The soil under the bermuda lawn was mushy, so much so that a high traffic area during our move is compacted an...

Re: More Irises and First Roses
I don't know how the weather is in St. Louis, but I would think it is really cold with snow? compared to So.Cal. But, with that said, with the exception of the winter, do you have continuous rotation of flowering plants or shrubs that are in your landscape? If so, what do you plant?

So nice. I am jealous. You can probably do all this in your sleep, too! I can see photos fine.
