Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Thanks Andy! Right, if N isn't really needed, I do plan to do manual mixing. Since I need SOP anyhow for F1, I can use it for BW3 too (for the K part). Then I only need to get TSP for BG4 (for the P part, while mixing SOP for the K part). I have done Mag-I-Cal and Epsom Salts mixing in the past upon...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Hi, Andy, Thanks for the explanation! Currently I am not in that stage of achieving a very dense, dark lawn yet. I still have that 'Jonathan Green Sun and Shade' Northern Mix, although I am very interested in getting the soil condition right slowly for a future renovation with KBG blends (maybe in a...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Hi, Andy, Thanks very much for the quick turnaround! The instructions are very clear, although I have one question: For BG4/BW3, you advised to drop 1 lb of N as well (along with P/K for BG4 and K for BW3). What would happen if no N is dropped (i.e. only P/K and K are used respectively)? Since I am ...

Hi, Dear ST6 Team,
Could you please recommend a soil amendment plan that I should follow this year?
Thanks!

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Sorry didn't realize that PM wasn't encouraged. But Andy did address all my questions. Specifically he advised that a fall nitrogen regimen and a lime plan ideally shouldn't go hand in hand. I think nitrogen is more important for my lawn at the moment so I am sticking to it. Also I googled it a bit ...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Thanks very much Andy! Sure I'll follow the Fall Nitrogen Regimens. I have already dropped bag rate milorganite 3 times since Labor Day. One question though: Since the Back Lawn proper's PH value is so low, should I add some lime now before the ground is frozen this year? I already have Mag-I-Cal an...

FSL's Soil Test Results - 2016
Hi, This is the second time I post my soil test results. The first results were posted in 2014. However, they were all done by the UMass lab. If it is still relevant, they can be found here: http://aroundtheyard.com/soil/fsl-soil-test-results-2014-t13647.html This time all results were from Logan La...

Re: Proactive Biofungicides Program Heads-Up
Just FYI I got the Serenade concentrate from 1000bulbs.com at $14.94/quart plus shipping. I was about to click 'submit' in simplesuccessforperfectplants.com when I noticed that the company is actually just a 15 minute drive away, so I ordered by phone and picked it up. The Companion is $25.95/quart ...

Thanks Mattya! Good to know that the soil in those two areas aren't that bad. Sure, I'll add some SOP there over time.

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2014
I also got the soil tests done for the flower garden and a side strip. For 6/Flower Garden, I am just looking for some simple advice (as for 5/Raised Bed) and they are low priority. For 7/Side Strip, please ignore it for interpretation as I don't plan to plant anything yet. I add it here just for my...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2014
Hi, Andy, Could you please let me know how much to apply the SOP/TSP/Boron/Copper for the 'Back Lawn Proper'? I think I finally get to a stage I can do something to it in the next week or so. Also if it is possible, I'd like to change the priority from 'Back Lawn'->'Front Lawn'->'Subsoil Section' to...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2014
Thanks Andy! Good to know that soil isn't hopeless! I'll do Mag-I-Cal every 3 months for a total of 3 times this year starting from now, and also add Epsom Salts with the first 2 applications. I'll do it the best way (will buy SOP and TSP). This applies to other test results as well. I'll do the mic...

Re: FSL's Soil Test Results - 2014
Hi, Andy, Didn't see your post till now. I was doing the Front Lawn House Side today and got inside the house 8:30pm dog tired. Still I only threw down half of the peat moss before I couldn't see it in the dark. Will finish it early tomorrow morning before going to work. Sorry for the trouble of the...

FSL's Soil Test Results - 2014
This is the first time ever I have got soil tests done professionally and I am having quite a few. In the future I may not have that many. Cordial thanks to the soil experts in advance! Description Lawn soil samples (1-4) were taken from 4" deep. Raised bed soil sample (5) was taken from 6" deep. Mo...

Re: Posting A Soil Test for Interpretation
What's the policy about posting multiple test results done at the same time but on different parts of the lawn of the same user? Should one use one thread for each test, or use one thread for all tests? I see the Logan Labs put all tests in one page, but the UMass lab sends one email/file for each t...

Re: Speedzone and Clover
After some research I too decided to use SpeedZone as my goto herbicide to tackle the bottom layer of the weeds triangle (and possibly the middle layer too). I got 1 GAL from lawnandpestcontrolsupply.com for a very good price (I think). They also sell a 20 oz version. I checked their Tenacity rate i...

Re: Weeds in last year's reno and how to treat them
Thanks. That works. Only reason to try to identify is to figure out what to use to kill it. Though I cannot make that determination for this weed. The leaves look like a cross between common chickweed and creeping charlie/ground ivy http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/yy225/tnkrer/th_low-levelweed.j...
