Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Finally got the mower started, and mowed all non-wet parts of the low-input area, which was most of it. 3.75 in.
Sprayed Triv on main front.
Same neighbor whose sprinklers were recently activated apparently had another "chem lawn" app today. Looks like they must've sprayed the N again, because there was no hint of granular material anywhere.
Starting to see gypsy moth caterpillars dropping off of trees and other surfaces. Maybe that fungus is finally killing them.

Put down soil wetting agent on the 2012 reno area that has some thatch buildup. KBGfarmer is sending the rain my way.

Applied Propiconazole and 2 bags of milo before the rain tomorrow.

Haven't been able to do anything in the yard for a week. Over 9" of rain in the past 7 days. Twice in that span we received 3" gully washers. And of course.....it's raining today.

Yea, y'all in Georgia gettin it good. Wishing I could take some of it off your hands for you. We were supposed to get some, but its looking more and more to be nothing. Well not nothing, its cloudy and 77 here, so its a nice break from the heat for the grass.GeorgiaDad wrote: ↑June 22nd, 2017, 12:42 pmHaven't been able to do anything in the yard for a week. On grandfather's lawn: Put down fertilizer with insect control (Scotts 30-3-4 with .086% Bifenthrin and 7.4% PCSCU). 7.5 lbs on the front only. 0.3-0.5 lb/K of N. Also string Trimmed.
At home: finished mowing low-input area.
Painted Glyphosate on some things I didn't want growing in the front.
Mixed Tenacity. No idea the real rate, because my Tenacity is now a gelatinous mess because it's old, so the concentration likely changed...it's probably somewhere between the 2oz and 5oz rate the way I mixed it all things considered though. I used 3-4mL of the goop in one gallon of H2O with surfactant, and then spot sprayed some weedy grasses on the main front, as well as Nimblewill and others in the low-input area. There was no way around blanket spraying some areas there. I did the East side of the shed, and also the new area where the Nimblewill is. I don't think the fine fescue is going to like it based on experience...but...no other way to do this.

Spread 10-10-10 per my soil test results plan. Rained in. Hoping this improves the color in area. A little yellow tipped due to the annual rye that overtook my 2016 Reno.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Forgot to mention that yesterday morning, I had the wide front zone water for 46 min (~0.333 inch of H2O). Then at 2PM, I was able to do some hand watering! I watered all hell-strip areas well, as well as some corners that tend to have trouble in the heat, Triv spots/herbicide areas that were browning out, the area along the edge that got damaged by a vehicle the other day, and then syringed the front hill and the main front (mostly by hand but also with the irrigation system a bit). I like a nice, deep syringe that wets the soil a tiny bit. I've found that just misting the blades lightly doesn't always do it for me.
Reminder to self: put down light Milo on that damaged area tomorrow.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Storms last night droppped 1.23 inches of rain which added to the .25 inches we got during the day yesterday. At this rate will rarely have to run irrigation. Worried about fungus. Will apply serenade this weekend.

Put down 13 lbs of SOP on low-input area.
Mowed lower back, side front, and parts of side and main front that needed it. Some areas didn't grow much. The Velocity is apparently acting as a PGR.
Threw down partial handfuls of Milorganite on some compromised areas in the front.

Mowed and trimmed. Watered 1" with oscillating sprinklers because irrigation system sucks. Trimmed grass pots.

Mowed at 3.75" and trimmed. Lawn looks pretty good after over 2" of rain last weekend and a decent shower this morning.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Finally caught a break in the weather. Didn't rain for several hours yesterday. Along with a good breeze, it was dry enough to mow by late afternoon. Did I break the 1/3 rule? Heck, I broke the 1/2 rule. I cut at 4" the first time. But I had so many floppies I had to remow at 3.5". And of course the rain returned last night. Today has been a rainy/drizzly day.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Got the mower out and then put it back in the shed after I realized there has been only a 1/2" of growth since the PGR went down 5 days ago. This stuff works fast, me like!
