Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2021
Fresh cut this morning. I am really happy with the lawn, it just takes a lot of work and upkeep. https://i.postimg.cc/Z0gZVJz5/2-A7-E0158-42-D9-4-EB8-BF0-B-53-C5-F4-EC11-FE.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/gLwpmT8p/84-D17-A97-42-F2-458-B-89-CD-B949-DE58-BC22.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/qgg4szYF/A890307-B-8822-...

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2021
Absolutely no visible change to my lawn. I have the best lawn on my street of 56 new houses. This soil test (OM) is not impressive. My lawn looks amazing. I baby it and it does well.. it's not impressive on paper but everyone stops and ask what I do. I will post picture tomorrow morning of my lawn..

Re: ProCare Natural Fertilizer
I put 3 bags down on my 7k sqft on Saturday. I've been out of town since Sunday and coming back on Sunday. Really curious to see how it did while I'm gone..

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Yesterday I overseeded the ~600sqft front yard section, applied tenacity, peat moss and watered it all in. Today I came home to find about 20' of tracks into my side yard, a 2'x2' patch of bare dirt, and a line around the perimeter of my lawn where the utility company came and pulled cable undergrou...

Re: ProCare Natural Fertilizer
Looks like my local Lowe's has it for $12.97! Gotcha beat by a penny. Discount brings that to $11.67 per bag. Looks like I'll be making a stop at Lowe's and grabbing a few bags to try out myself. Thanks for the info.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Finally got time to blow the compost around that was applied way to thick on Saturday. I had some spots that were between 1" and 2" thick.. Patiently waiting to see if these spots recover and taking tips on if this has happened to you in the past..

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
You'll never control K31 by hand pulling. It has deep roots. Glyphosate is your best bet. If you're opposed to chemicals, use a shovel and dig at least 12" to get most of the roots. It may come back (at least partially). But it's a bunch grass, so if you keep at it, you can get rid of it. Well that...

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Today, yesterday, the day before that & tomorrow will all consist of hand pulling all of the stuff my local extension identified as KY31 tall fescue.. I would never put this curse on my worst enemy. I also raked a few spots where my neighbors dogs politely glyphosated for me.

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2020
So, if you remove Potassium from the equation, you have to weigh the risk of Snow Mold against not making progress in the remediation program. The world is full of trade-offs. Gotcha. That was something I wasn't quite sure I had thought far enough ahead about. Looks like I should go through and rea...

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2020
Hey Andy, Just a small follow up and a few questions. I've applied my lime application and followed up 3 weeks later with my first balanced fertilizer application. I'm going to get a truck load of compost in the next few weeks to address my OM issue. Being as this is a new sodded yard, some spots ma...

Re: August 15th is Here!!
Awesome! I've managed to keep my lawn out of dormancy and gave it a dose of milorganite to get everything going full speed ahead. Once the rain stops today/tomorrow, my first application of my balanced fertilizer will go down for my soil remediation plan. Hopefully my sod plugs act right so I can ge...

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2020
Hey Andy, I thought this might interest you. I haven't done my digging in my yard yet like you asked, or any soil composition test etc. Reading through the articles and getting a better idea of what soil actually is, and then seeing it like this was interesting. But the tropical storm has definitely...

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2020
Thanks for explaining that. I do appreciate the information. I was able to look at the others I mentioned and see why you wouldn't recommend. I ordered a few bags of the Solu-Cal and will apply at the heavy bag rate, 12lbs/1K, August 1st and then every 90 days. August 15th I will apply 10-10-10 at 1...

Re: ShawnT2016 Soil Test 2020
Thanks Andy. Yes that seems to be correct with your philosophy. I jumped down the interwebs rabbit hole for lawn care which is reflective in the applications thus far. Typically I wouldn't be at home everyday of the week, so that didn't make it much better either for a busy body like myself. BUT, I ...

Hello All, https://i.postimg.cc/9w4pN3VT/D0007-D22-888-F-4117-BE05-6-F98-B4-FA1-BBB.png I'm located in Fredericksburg VA. I bought a new construction house in May of this year which had 90/10 TTTF KBG sod laid in March. The lawn is doing good considering the heat we've had and lack of rain. The prop...
