Re: BrianM 2023 soil test

Also, I looked back to my 2020 tests where I tested different areas individually, the TEC was all 5.5-6.0.. maybe last years was a bad sample?

Re: BrianM 2023 soil test

I am in Thornwood. I believe there has been soil brought onto my property at various times for various reasons through the years. I have never really paid attention to where exactly I get soil for the test from. Maybe I’m hitting different batches of soil?

Uncle Steve’s Soil Test

Hi guys. I’m trying to help my uncle with his lawn. I took a soil test last fall, didn’t post it in time before the end of the year cutoff, then didn’t want to post it during the busy time of year. This is last years test. So we are looking for a fall plan at this point. This year he did 1 bag rate ...

Re: BrianM 2022 soil test

Oh and one more question. What are your thoughts on soil amendment products like humichar or biocharken? Would they be a benefit to my soil?

Re: BrianM 2022 soil test

Thank you Morpheus. I just have a question on the recommendations. The sept 1 app, apply the 20 mule/Milo AND starter fert in the one day? Also I have been reading about fall nitrogen regimes on this forum. It seems you think I should not do that and I should stick with just the 2 fall applications ...

Yes it is Logan labs. Doesn’t look like the link showed up. If we’re done for the season then that’s ok

Re: Overseed Perennial Ryegrass With Fescue

I used JG Black beauty ultra for an over seed last year and am not happy with it. It did look pretty good in spring, however not so happy with it now. The amount of seed stalks that came up is crazy. They are still there but yellow/brown color. They are a real eye soar. Second I got hit with a nast...

Round up Extended control accident

I am helping my father with an over seed this fall. I recently told him to go ahead and spray some round up on heavy weed areas. Well, he used round up extended control. He did not do a blanket spray. And did not use too too much. He said he just kind of walked around in circles lol. So my question ...

Re: Disease question

Thanks for the response. I cannot say it’s only tttf.. as I said it’s new grass from last fall so could maybe be just young. But it doesn’t look like it’s on the kbg.. after researching on interweb I’d guess it’s leaf spot too. I’ll look into that product you mentioned.

Thanks for the help

Disease question

Hello all. I have a few patches of this yellowing going on. I just overseeded last fall and am hoping it was just too much seed in some areas and some are dying off, but now I’m not too sure. It’s a northern mix, but appears to be effecting the tttf and not the prg or kbg. Any suggestions? My zip co...

Re: Poa-a and Poa-t questions

Thanks north east lawns, you answered a lot of my questions.. But what if I just dug it out? The annua, I know has seeds that I’d never get, and hopefully the pre-m limits them. But the big section of trivialis, it’s about 200sqft of weed, I’d. Could triple that to make sure I get everything. Go dow...

Re: Pulling POA

Funny, I just posted my own questions about poa lol. Mine must be deeply rooted, I cannot easily pull them out. I’m thinking of digging them out, brining I. Some soil and planting some prg as a place holder till fall and re seed. But don’t listen to me, I know nothing about grass 🤣😂

Poa-a and Poa-t questions

Quick background: I’m a beginner grass care nut. Live in Westchester County NY. Have northern mix lawn. I found some(quit a lot) of what I believe is Poa-a and Poa-t in my yard. Lime-ish green color, boat shaped tips. Annua and flowering seed heads, trivialis does not. Am I correct so far? From read...

Re: Prodiamine Question

Thanks for the info. I’ll do a thorough walk around to see if a spring touch up seeding is necessary. I’ll probably end up doing a light prodiamine and seed in august.

Prodiamine Question

I am getting ready for my prodiamine application. But I also have a few spots that are a little bare and need some seed. Can I put a small tarp down over these areas when applying prodiamine and be able to seed these areas?
