Nice lawn and nice edging. A lawn and landscape always looks better when it's nicely edged.
I agree!! What did you use to edge? String trimmer, edging blade, or something else?

Threw down 0-0-7 with prodiamine (first split app).
How many applications and how far apart are you planning to do?

Core Aeration During Low Temps

What are the pros/cons of aerating in these cooler temps. Here in MA, we're expected to see lows of 29, and highs of 54.

Application Rate Question

Hi,

If I'm told to "Apply 2 lbs / K" of a product, does that mean 2lbs per 1,000 square feet? So if I had a 2,000 square foot area I would need 4lbs. of that product?

Thanks!

Re: kellytroym_soil_test

Thanks TimmyG. Well if I just read Hoosier's original post to my soil test a little closer then I would have had my answer :) Hoosier explains it here. " Source Sulfate of Potash (SOP 0-0-50). I'd really like to use SOP instead of Muriate of Potash (MOP 0-0-60) as the SOP will play much nicer with t...

Re: kellytroym_soil_test

Thank you HooiserLawnGnome, TimmyG, and Ken-n-Nancy. I have a quick question regarding SOP 0-0-50. I found a place near me that sells 0-0-61 which I believe is Potassium chloride vs Potassium sulfate (0-0-50). Could I use the 0-0-61 in place of the 0-0-50? If so, how much and how often? Thanks, Troy

kellytroym_soil_test

Hi, Attached is my soil test. I had the front and back tested separately as I do not have irrigation in the back, but do in the front. This year, other than irrigation, both front and back have been treated the same. I'm looking for the best approach. Front Square Footage = 7k Back Square Fooptage =...

Re: Help Improving Lawn

Thanks everyone for the advise. I hit it up with Baystate a few days ago, and am going to follow the triangle approach by applying a general-purpose broadleaf liquid weed killer containing 2,4D in about two weeks. Hit it with some pre-m next spring, and seed early fall (shortly before Labor day) 2017.

Help Improving Lawn

Hi Everyone, I have a large area behind my back yard that I would like to improve on. The area is not an area that I have irrigation, nor is it an area I want to spend too much money or time on. I do however, want to get it looking better. Right now it's 90% weeds. I want to start to eliminate the m...

Pre-M Around Shrubs

I'm looking for a good way to keep the weeds out of my mulch beds around shrubs and perennials...any suggestions. Applying the mulch thicker doesn't always seem to work. Is there a Pre-M that I can put down either under or on top of the mulch?

Re: Scotts Halts Pre-Emergent with or Without Fertilizer?

Straight halts....has worked great for me for several years. Fertilizing now forces top growth at the expense of root growth, so when the heat of summer comes......problems. Look at it this way....you wake up someone way too early (early spring) give them coffee, they perk up, but crash hard by noo...

Re: Scotts Halts Pre-Emergent with or Without Fertilizer?

Where I am only the TB w/Halts is available. I put it down yesterday, but plan on dropping Milo very soon. Will the Milo help with the root growth concern?

If my math was correct...I sprayed at a 6oz/acre rate.

Re: Strange Result From Tenacity at Time of Seeding.

It was a mix of Lesco double eagle PRG and Scott's KBG. The pictures are after 5 days, so I'm assuming it's the PRG you see. I don't think KBG generates that quickly.

Strange Result From Tenacity at Time of Seeding.

Could this possibly be a result of spraying Tenacity as a pre-m?

How Can I Bring My Lawn Back From the Stress of Drought?

I've been gone for a week and a half, and mother nature did not water my lawn for me. Unfortunately I do NOT have an irrigation system. Other than watering, is there anything else I can do to hopefully bring my lawn back?

Thanks,
-Troy
