southern-ct-4 - not sure how far south you are, but Smithland Supply has Milo on sale through July 4 for $11.99/bag (limit 5 per the website). They seem to do this a few times per year,
Sometimes it’s a bit better with a BOGO sale.

Re: Who all has put down Pre Emergent?
So far, I have applied my first split app of pre-M on less than 6,000 square feet. Additionally, only 0.55K or so has been watered in. Some is Prodiamine, and some is Dimension. I know I'm flirting with being a little late (especially with the Prodiamine as it's less soluble). I recommended to my f...

YEM 2023 Soil Test
Here are my soil test results from Logan Labs for 2023. It's the third year that I've tested the soil and as always, I greatly appreciate your suggestions. Last year's results are here: https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=27038 I followed morph's plans from 2022 pretty closely, bu...

Re: Robot Mowers on cool season turf
I know very little about the wire-free versions, but...I have questions. :-) The accuracy of GPS is ≤0.006 m/sec over any 3-second interval, with 95% probability. That's...not very good (yes, yes, the distance is great, it's the p of 5% of being wrong that's terrible when the mower travels a meter ...

Re: Dimension Application Rates - Coastal Region Question
I hope this helps. Have you arrived at a certain effective rate yourself, over the last two years since posting this question? Thanks for the detailed responses! This is all great. Anyway, I would say “no”, I don’t have my rates for this particular product dialed in 2 years later :-) My notes from ...

Re: Robot Mowers on cool season turf
I'll wait HOCs over 3.5 inches, no boundary wires needed, better security features, and programmable week-to-week adjustments for no-mowing windows (e.g. due to frost) and ability to only mow certain areas. The current Greenworks Optimow has a 4” max HOC, but I haven’t seen many reviews or posts ab...

Can you manage weekly apps on a smaller portion of your lawn? Spread quickly & run sprinklers off the hose in that area for a while? Might be a compromise to hit the spot you care most about.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Spread a bag of starter fert yesterday per my soil plan, before today’s rain. Also got some Pre-M down in the backyard (Stonewall 0-0-7 for half, Scotts HALTS on the other half). Using a new spreader (Chapin 82050C) and it’s poorly designed. Will likely bring it back to HD and use the old Scott’s sp...

We're also shopping for a new lawn robot. It's down to the Husqvarna and the Landroid by Worx. So far, the Landroid is leading on features, battery life (and availability, price, interchangeability with our other Worx products...) and app. Keep us posted on your decision! I’m considering adding one...

Re: Overseed Perennial Ryegrass With Fescue
I'm currently looking at 2 blends...Super Turf I LS Tall Fescue Blend from United Seeds or Jonathan Green's Black Beauty. I’d probably lean towards the United Seeds option since their stuff usually has 0% weed and 0% other crop. I’m sure you could call/email to confirm. The bag of JG Black Beauty U...

Re: Filling in tire tracks
Maybe try raising the turf with a pitch fork first. I saw that suggestion in this thread below and it’s seemed to work for me in a few areas this year. https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=24573&p=346928&hilit=Fork#p346928 I also need to try it on some tire tracks (from tree removal...

YEM can I ask where you got your Humic DG from? thanks Mark Amazon last year and I caught the free shipping from AM Leonard earlier this month. Unfortunately I don’t have a source locally. I’m not experienced enough to review your full plan, but I’d consider sourcing peat moss earlier. I’ve seen some discussion of shortages here in CT at the moment. So if you can find it easily now, consider grabbing it so you’re not chasing it last minute.

Dropped a 15k bag of starter fertilizer last night and this morning per my soil plan. Timed after yesterday’s 1-2” of rain and prior to today’s rain.
