Re: Is this nutsedge?
Looks like nutsedge to me. The Ortho nutsedge killer works well but you might not want to spray it on new grass.

I had a ton of nutsedge as well this year. I lack your patience, so I deployed Ortho nutsedge killer. It works.

Spot sprayed some crabgrass. Prodiamine overall did a great job this year but a little CG broke through near the pavement.

Tuckahoe Turf Farm in Hammonton has some high quality seed. I use their Athletic Mix which is 90/10 TTTF/KBG. Their sod is widely used including by NFL and MLB stadiums.

Re: Is there enough time to overseed and Pre M in the fall?
I am thinking about trying an August overseed this year with dithopyr pre-m around mid-September. I use up my yearly max of prodiamine in the spring. The worst that can happen is the dithiopyr kills my new growth and I wasted money on seed.

Re: Sun and shade grass mixture/seed
I have areas similar to the first and third pics that I think are poa. Not sure which poa but they were lime green in the spring, and then flopped over and thinned out.

Re: Sun and shade grass mixture/seed
Is it possible the matted areas are poa that you resurrected with the slit seeder? That happened to me this year. I slit seeded/aerated with sod quality 90/10 TTTF/KBG last fall, and then this spring I had some patches of lime green poa (probably triv). I killed some spots and reseeded, but others I...

Re: Any opinions on watering everyday after a drought....
I have full sun in my front yard with very good drainage. When it gets really hot my grass gets fried. I find heavy watering really does help. Its not an immediate fix but after a few days it gets going. Obviously this approach encourages fungus, shallow rooted weeds etc. Like everything else about ...

Re: Fungicide recommendations
I have been using the same regimen as you. I use the hose end sprayer for prop and the granular azoxy. It seems to be working, although it is probably more cost effective to get the gallon jugs and use a 4 gallon backpack sprayer. The time increase is my biggest concern for me as it would probably t...

Maintaining a 50000 SF lawn sounds like a massive undertaking. Have you considered a tow sprayer?

Seedsuperstore is popular. There is also GCI Turf TTTF available on Yard Mastery. Its actually a 90/10 TTTF KBG blend which is common to add diversity and spread.
