Re: Triv identification
I’m facing exactly the same situation. 1 year old KBG lawn, same looking invasive grass in certain areas, lighter color, shallow roots and pulls up easily. I plan on hitting it with tenacity to see if it lights up. This might also slow it down a bit while I work out what to do next. Do you have a pl...

Invasive grass?
I planted KBG last season. The rear of my lawn has many lighter green patches which are caused by the grass below. Is this what I planted or something else? Thanks. https://i.postimg.cc/18GPSvs5/48-C7-B1-C1-0344-48-E2-B06-E-28-DDAE71-CB99.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/XZnWY9YK/B6-F5-BA3-A-8-B8-C-4-B18-99...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
I owe you all an update. On my last report in Spring I had a poa a problem. I hit that with a course of Tenacity spread over 4 applications and it seemed to do the trick. The summer here has been brutally dry and I was a bit slow on the irrigation, but overall things are looking OK. I do have some a...

Spot Treating POA Triv with Certainty
I have a KBJ lawn in NJ, seeded last year. I can see patches of bunching grass in the lawn that I’m fairly sure are POA Triv. This time of year they can be spotted visually, as they grow faster and form an obvious clump. So the question is, can I spot treat these with Certainty to give the KBG growi...

Re: Poa A is lit up
That mirrors my experience. My Reno was also August. In retrospect I should have hit it again with tenacity after 4 weeks. This was likely when the PoaA took hold, tho everyone tells you to not disturb the seedbed. Also I could have done with knowing what early stage PoaA looked like and also with k...

Re: Poa A is lit up
I used gold tag seed from SSS and United. I can speculate all day as to how this got there. We have deer here, which might spread it. Evidently the Tenacity at time of seeding didn’t stop it though, so I’m reluctant to renovate again as I’d likely get the same results. Also my wife would kill me if ...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
Despite applying Tenacity at time Of seeding, I have large amounts of POA A spread throughout the lawn. I have applied Tenacity twice in the Spring and it is all lit up light green (picture below) So now what? Do I wait for it to fade away? https://i.postimg.cc/rD3Kvfhk/5-DD1-D3-EF-89-E3-4-B46-8-F46...

Should I dig these out?
Newly seeded KBG lawn (from fall 21) in NJ. Things are just waking up from the winter and the lawn looks very uneven. There are many clumps, some of varying appearance. I find it hard to tell desireable grass from weeds, as I don’t know what KBG can/ should look like. I have take. Pics of some of th...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
My lawn is starting to wake up from the winter, and my renovation is riddled with these things (picture below). Is this poa annua? What is the recommended course of action? I was about to apply pre emergent, but I have a ton of this stuff in an already emerged state. https://i.postimg.cc/ZvTcWWNj/99...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
The bald areas at the front where I reseeded in early October are filling in a little better. It is really unclear what was going on there. Perhaps it was as simple as the seed all washing away before. The back lawn is looking OK too, though nobody is mistaking this for turf any time soon. It is thi...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
The run off part has got me thinking. These areas are where water from the block stone driveway gathers and washes over the lawn (the stone doesn’t drain fast enough in a fast downpour). I wonder if there could have been some chemicals on the stone that then washed over the seed and killed it? I do ...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
The soil tends to be pretty wet in those areas, though there are other parts of the lawn that are wetter. The soil doesn’t smell funny though.

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
Help needed please. In some of the areas that have been struggling (front yard, where I get runoff during storms) I have noticed some seedlings sprouting and then yellowing/ dying instead of maintaining that young vibrant green color. I have attached a couple of pics. Any idea what is going wrong in...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
Update: back lawn is filling in nicely. Front lawn still has some bald areas where there has been runoff during all of the storms (there was another one last week). What is the latest date I can put down additional seed on these areas? It is clear which bits are lagging, is it worth throwing down mo...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
Thanks. I sprayed Tenacity when I seeded and that seemed to do a good job of holding this off for the first 3 weeks, but recently the weeds have exploded. I’m ok leaving it as the end is in sight (I hope), I was just a bit concerned by the seed heads. My focus is getting good establishment now so th...

Re: Bazil’s 2022 Lawn Renovation
Slowly but surely the lawn is filling in with green shoots. Tiny green shoots. Tiny, fragile green shoots. Meanwhile the patch of grass at the front where I threw down fescue 10 days ago already has 2” growth. Remind me why I did KBG again please….. https://i.postimg.cc/WFvhMq2F/CFCFAC20-7-A80-4921-...
