Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Western Mass: I mowed today!! Latest I've mowed ever except for that one super warm spell we had in late Dec / early Jan a few years back where it hit 60-70 for a few days. Maybe there actually is something to all this Global warming talk? :o Full disclosure, I did the Urea lock up dump about a mont...

Re: Growth Stoppage
Major cold snap coming this week in New England, starting now.....Pretty sure I missed my Urea window of opportunity. :banghead: I dumped a little this morning on half the lawn were the dog pees, hoping to grow out some of those spots next year.... All the ski areas are touting their earliest openin...

Leftover BLSC and Milo ?
I've got a few gallons of ~BLSC in the tank and a few bags of Milo leftover from this year. Space is a premium in the garage as I have ATV's, snomobiles, Jeeps, etc. Will this stuff have any effect if I dump it now before this afternoons rain? or Store it till Spring? I live in Western, Mass, first ...

Huh. No kidding.
I was going to ask you guys what all those funky colors and odd looking things were in my last batch of BayState I spread around.
Half-kidding.

Re: Current BayState Prices
Carl called me back. Picked up 30 bags yesterday. Spoke to the receptionist there briefly, she said Spring is crazy for them, but it has settled down recently. They had a few pallets sitting there in the warehouse, not sure if they were claimed. Still $3.50 a bag, best deal on the planet. Not sure w...

Re: Current BayState Prices
Finally/Hopefully getting a chance to head out there Wednesday.
The milo shortage of 2019 is putting my lawn into dormancy for the first time in about 6-8 years.

Necro-thread revival:
Anyone been yet this year?
Does Carl have plenty in stock?
Thinking of getting a pallet this year, as my local HD does not sell Milo anymore.

Re: Milorganite now Illegal in Massachusetts?
Paul, Let's see how this pans out. I'm sure you guys will get to the bottom of it soon. Have you asked anyone at HD for more info? Here in CT, we have a similar policy with P. Scotts organic fertilizer was outlawed several years ago, and I still don't know why. It's an 11-2-2, I believe. Maybe Mass...

Milorganite now Illegal in Massachusetts?
Sorry for the shocking subject line, but I was pretty shocked too..... I was in my local big orange box this afternoon, they pulled all the milo and multiple signs up all over the fertilizer section something to the effect of "no fert sales of anything with phosphorus without a soil test that indica...

Re: Milorganite on Sale
I got Milo this season from a big box retailer (unnamed). Manager said they do not have a price match garauntee, which is posted on their website. After a resolution, $3.81 a bag after tax. Once I figured the price per bag my comment was, “I’ll take every bag you have in stock.” Two pallets worth. ...

Re: First Mow Love that Spring Flush!
Somehow I knew this, I think we chatted a few years ago. I'm not on here much anymore...work/life/kids and other message boards. Still doing my monthly milo though, UMass hates me, too much phosphorus, need to get that down. I wonder if there's something as good as milo without the phosphorus. Maybe...

Blade Buying: H vs Star pattern
My 6ish year old 50" Cub has 3 lift blades with the 6 point star pattern in the center. Scanning Amazon it seems most people try to order these and get stuck with the four point H Pattern that does not match the pic....but they fit and they work. Anyone have any direct experience with this? Putting ...

Re: Milorganite sale
I've done the Baystate thing in years past. Bought 3/4 of a pallet or so. A tank of gas did eat up some of the savings. I figured if I find milo on sale locally, plus taking a biz tax deduction for it that is good enough for me. What it really boils down to is I'm too lazy/busy to make the 4 hour ro...
