Re: Fall new seeding - Starter Fertilizer and Tenacity
Yea, Tuesday is the absolute first day we could even think about it. Siders are finishing up as we speak.

Fall new seeding - Starter Fertilizer and Tenacity
Hi Guys, Finally getting to my final grading and seeding all around our house after an extensive addition over the past few months. I picked up my Twin City Seed Tuff Turf TTTF/PRG/KBG blend today and was wondering about a couple of things. Starter Fertilizer Should I use some? I also have a bunch o...

Re: Late September planting - Minnesota
It'll be several thousand, probably half an acre total this go round. Irrigation will be tricky as we don't have it right now.
But I think you're right, best to do something than nothing. Shooting to have framing and siding done by Sept 15th, so we'd plant hopefully that week as well.

Late September planting - Minnesota
Hey Guys, Back after a decent hiatus as my wife and I are in the middle of a pretty substantial addition to our house. We're adding a large master suite on one side and a third garage stall on the other. We're definitely going to be pressing for time to get it graded and seeded yet this fall, but le...

Re: Potted daylillies
Precisely my thought!
One slight negating I've noticed is the leaf tips burning up. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that they sit in the west side of the house in a black pot. Might literally be burning up. Nothing outrageous, but somewhat noticeable.

Re: Potted daylillies
Would there be a better deep rooting perennial for these planters? I just figured daylillies are pretty hard to kill so I wanted to give them a shot.

Re: Can anyone ID?
There's two types of hydrangeas right? My are more woody, shrubs and I've never watered them. Granted they're all established this point. Do the softer ones require more water?

Potted daylillies
I know this is probably stupid but I am trying it anyway. I bought some large, tall planters for in front of my house and planted re-blooming daylillies in them. Any tips on helping them survive the winter? Should I bring the pots in the garage? Bury them in the snow? https://i.postimg.cc/WqTRGVWt/2...

Re: Triclopyr safe to use near hydrangea?
I blanket sprayed triclopyr for clover last year and probably got pretty close to my hydrangeas, they're exceptional this year but they're very well established plants. I can't imagine triclopyr at lawn application levels doing any lasting damage if just sprayed nearby.

Re: Missed Memorial Day
Hey Ron, that's exactly what I got and where. It was on sale for $6.99 a bag this last week so I got 40.
Also, yes I did get some from TC Seed. They're a pretty great operation, highly recommend just buying directly from them.

Re: Missed Memorial Day
Thanks for that Morph, that pretty much hits exactly what I was looking for. So does something like this look reasonable? August 1 - Grains Sept 1 - Biosolids Oct 1 - Biosolids After growth stops - Urea I'll have to try and find something reasonable to drop over 50k sq ft for a grain, but for one ap...

Re: Missed Memorial Day
I think based on what you've said, I'm going to wait. I've noticed the lawn slowing over the last week and a half, and it's 80-90s for highs the next 14 days. If the spring is the least important, I think I'll be much better served to hit the good organics in the fall. The lawn looks to be in a pret...

Missed Memorial Day
Hi All, I missed my memorial day application because of life so I haven't actually fertilized at all this year. Lawn is doing pretty good though. I had bought some synthetic to apply but have since returned it since it's gotten hot and I was able to score some Milo knock off from fleet farm at a rea...

Re: Mosquito Joe Alternative
I have a little tempo SC laying around that I usually spray around the house with. Would this work the same as Bifen? Seems like it should. I've never thought to do this and I hate mosquitos, I'm usually the one being carried away.
Any preference for safety between the two with dogs/kids?

Re: Spray Application
I'm assuming you have a boom sprayer? The last time I did it I did 2 rounds with 20 gallons and hit 1/2 an acre per trip. Wondering if it might be easier to just fill the sprayer to the brim and do it all in one tank.

Re: Fertilizing Young Trees
Thanks, Morph! This has been helpful. I'll probably get a couple of lines set up when the spring rains slow down.
I'm sick of fighting the lack of weather and losing so much stock. I should've done this from the get-go. Live and learn I suppose.

Re: Fertilizing Young Trees
Yea, I think having it all on one run would be problematic. But I should pretty easily be able to just have two and swap the hose after a few hours. I did a little research on dripdepot.com and it looks like for 1/2" lines they recommend the 200/200 rule. Which is no more than 200gph over 200ft. Sin...
