Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
Thanks Andy. I think I’m going to use prodiamine twice a year to help keep it down. Pendulum is too expensive for me to keep purchasing ($90 for a 40lb bag)

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
Andy, So do you recommend prodiamine as a good pre M for stiltgrass? Or is there another pre M you would recommend for it? I used pendulum 2g in early spring but as you indicated if you don’t put a strong enough app down it will emerge all summer long which it’s doing in my yard again in small patch...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Spot sprayed more Japanese stiltgrass with acclaim using my 4 gallon backpack sprayer. I use about 0.40 oz per gallon and does the trick without hurting the grass.

Sun and shade grass mixture/seed
Hello, I wanted to get your opinion on the best grass seed for sun and shade lawns. My lawn is alittle different than most.. I have a lot of big trees scattered in the yard that provide shade during certain parts of the day and then those shade spots then turn sunny and vice versa. Basically these p...

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
I noticed more coming in patches around some parts of the yard but not nearly as bad as it was last year. We shall see in the next 30 days.. just ordered another pint of acclaim too.

Re: Scott’s Weed and Feed in Late Spring
Indeed. My yard is on a slope with lots of trees. Also surrounded by woods. Very hard to maintain, and weeds come in every year. My neighbor has a tow behind sprayer and I think I’ll have to borrow it more often. I have a tow behind spreader which helps too. Once I think I put one fire out another o...

Can you reference some of your recommendations on sod quality or gold label seed? I am also interested in overseeding this fall. In the past I used Jonathan green black beauty and Oligers/fairlawn brand from am Leonard.

Re: Seed Recommendation - MN - Large Lawn - No Irrigation
I use websites such as seed barn or a site that has free shipping. I always research the better type of seeds and then make sure I’m not over paying. Sometimes sites with free shipping tack it onto the product. Seedbarn and Amazon sometimes have some good deals. As far as brands im sure you could ge...

Re: Scott’s Weed and Feed in Late Spring
Yeah I never really used weed and feed but figured may be an easy way to target the large areas that are filled with clover. But my neighbor has a sprayer attachment I could use and mix some triplet or tenacity in. My biggest concern this time of year is burning the grass. Each of these products say...

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
Andy, Absolutely and good points. Assuming this stuff will be back for the next few years is a good plan to prepare to spot spray and target it. I also see new patches appearing in places they weren’t last year. This stuff is tough but I’m not giving up. For a pre M, I used pendulum 2g. What pre M a...

Scott’s Weed and Feed in Late Spring
Hello all, I have had clover really come in bad this year. I was so focused on my pre m for Japanese stiltgrass and crabgrass earlier in the spring and didn’t do any post emergent apps. Normally I would use triplllet SF and tenacity, but my yard is 50,000 sqft and would prefer to do a blanket app. M...

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and am darn glad I came across it. Seems like many of these posts I can relate to especially this one. I’ve battled Japanese stiltgrass for many years and as you know if you don’t control it right away it becomes multiple fires to put out.. Well that was my mistak...
