Re: Bought a Honda HRX-217
I actually picked one up yesterday from a dealer, $575 out the door. It's definitely lighter than my Honda and the Blade brake is a nice feature and a 5 year warranty. I did cut my back yard last night even though I just cut it on Saturday, had to try it out. It seemed to do a nice job and I could t...

Re: Bought a Honda HRX-217
Funny, I have the HRX and can't stand it. It leaves pieces of uncut blades all over my lawn, I usually have to cut my lawn twice. There seems to be no vacuum to pull the blades back up once the wheels roll over them. I have had the mower for 4 seasons and it's time for it to go. I have been research...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
I found the solution for the suction and missed grass blades issue, it was to buy a new mower, LOL! I have had the same issue as many of you, poor suction missed blades of grass, so I purchased a Cub Cadet. I can tell you the suction is far more superior then my Honda as it pretty much obliterates l...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
On line and did pick up in store, I also did a online chat before ordering and asked them to price match, since the CC website had the model for $449 and HD was $499. They price matched, no problem.LoneRanger wrote:How did you order? In store or online?

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
Gotcha. How much was the EZ? The Cub Cadet, Home Depot price matched to $449, then took another $25 off because the first one that was sent was damaged and had to be reordered, so total was $424 also picked it up in Delaware so no sales tax either. Now to try and sell the Honda on Craigslist! Maybe...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
It will, but from what I have seen so far I am confident the CC will out perform the Honda. The Honda did so poorly at mulching leaves I actually bought a Craftsmen powered lawn vacuum to mulch the fall leaves. [ Post made via Android ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/Android.png

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
I have a Oak and Maple tree in my yard and the squirrels love to jump and run through them. They are constantly knocking branches and leaves down. All summer long I have to clean up leaves that have been torn off from those squirrels. It's a pain. I just cleaned the yard yesterday and today I can co...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
After two and half long weeks I finally got the new mower. I did have some problems from HD as the first one I ordered came in with a tapped up box and the mower had some damage, luckily I checked before leaving the store, so I hasd to reorder a new one and wait another week, it was frustrating. The...

Re: Lithium 80v Kobalt Trimmer
I've been using a B&D 40v trimmer for three years, love it! Only issue is that I have to use a thinner string which breaks frequently, but I buy the bulk refill and respool them myself I always have a spool ready to go.

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
what tlinden wrote is describing strips of grass being cut unevenly and I have read about that issue, but mine is more random, I really don't have defined strips of uncut grass.LoneRanger wrote:Did you check for a blade offset like tlinden had?plynn7 wrote:No blade brake on mine

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
Have you actually sharpened the blades? Your comment that they are "factory installed" makes me think they aren't. I sharpened mine before I even put gas and oil in the mower. They are far from sharp out of the box. Somebody was extra generous with the paint on mine and left them with a pretty roun...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
To the people who have no issues with their Honda mower- does it ever miss small things in the lawn? Like a small twig or an acorn or bouncy ball? or does it vacuum up everything perfectly? I can tell you that my Honda would never pick up anything like that, it barely would pick up leaves. It would...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
I can tell you that my Honda would never pick up anything like that, it barely would pick up leaves. It would only pick up leaves if they were lying on top of the grass, if they were in between the blades the mower would just pass right over them. I wonder if there's something wrong with the mower ...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
^ Where are you seeing it for $449? It's on local dealer sites and Cub Cadet's site. Home Depot has it for $499 so I did an online chat with them and they price matched the $449, so I ordered it through them and will pick up in store. Buying through HD I have 30 days to return it if I don't like it...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
I saw the SC 500EZ+ and really liked that but no one has them locally, I even called the manufacture and there are no plans to produce them again. I looked at the Toro's but after spending $700 on the Honda I'm not going to spend that kind of money again just to be disappointed. The Cub Cadet is onl...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
I'm done with my 2 year old Honda, no matter what I have tried and I have tried every suggestion that I could find, it is still leaving random blades of uncut grass, it's so noticeable that my way made a comment after I cut yesterday and she has never comments on the lawn. I put up with it for two s...

Re: Honda hrr216 cutting problem
Very frustrating that I have to mow twice with a $700 mower and I have tried every possible solution that I could research and I'm sure you have too, It is puzzling that more people don't complain, there are thousands of these mowers out there and I am sure a lot of people here have them as well. Ma...
