Yikes. I can barely remember what gypsum prills are like (it's been a few years), fast-acting or otherwise, but if it's anything like lime, the very last thing you want to do is to get it wet before spreading.escondidogardener2 wrote: ↑June 4th, 2020, 3:58 pm2) Can I use this gypsum as the "vehicle" for applying the 20 mule team borax?

Re: How do I Kill off small Ants without Killing everything?
Ants were out of control and laughing at D.E. this year, particularly in our raised vegetable beds, so my wife resorted to borax, sugar, and water in lids, and that seems to have done the trick in 24 hours.

1. My first thought was dogfennel, but distribution is the southeast during the summer. Maybe there are other fennels? Do you have any more mature specimens?

Ah, that's a very different story than you led with. So sod died with and without peat moss. There never really was an established St. Augustine lawn.

Re: Ken2736 soil test
Ken, if you truly cannot source urea locally (I would think Montana would be swimming in feed and grain stores), there are plenty of high-nitrogen fertilizer options on the market with no phosphorus and little potassium. One such example is Scotts Turf Builder 32-0-4. It's just silly to pay so much ...

Good luck!
We all get the lily virus. It's similar to what ails clematis: sometimes you deal with it; most times you go, meh, maybe next year.

...what are your thoughts on using dolomitic lime in lieu of calcitic lime with epsom salts? You're looking to take corrective action, not apply maintenance products, so go with the faster acting products. Except for an odd-ball product by Pennington, dolomitic lime is going to be very slow acting,...

Yeah, we're going to need chronology and more to go on before even fathoming a guess.

Tiny maples dodged another bullet. Suckers won't grow like normal. Don't know why. Pulled every one of them. I wish I had taken pictures before mowing. I had areas of KBG seed heads that looked like I was growing blue rug juniper in my mutt lawn. That was a new level of seed head density.

Re: Help Identifying Grass Types & Seed Heads
Welcome! Did you see KBG seed heads vs Poa Annua seed heads ? The seed heads (inflorescences) in your last picture do appear more open like those of Poa annua , but their even distribution suggests Poa pratensis . Verify by looking at the ligule as suggested in that yearly reminder post by turf_toes.

Re: Clovers and Dandelions Fescue?
Specifically which Spectracide product? It'll easily kill the dandelions, but a 2,4-D multiway herbicide is unlikely to kill the clover. For that you'll need triclopyr. If the weeds are small, they likely haven't yet overwhelmed and killed the existing adjacent turf plants, so killing the weeds won'...
