Re: POA Triv or something nightmare
I disagree - I have never seen Poa Triv that upright or wide. Here's a pic of Triv. from Rutgers Turf blog. Looks like the same stuff to me. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fturfblog.rutgers.edu%2F%3Fp%3D1192&psig=AOvVaw1ENDuJ2McFjBHiNosjA_1P&ust=1589669226541000&source=images&cd=v...

POA Triv or something nightmare
Completed lawn renovation a few years back using Logan TTTF/KGB blend. Overall fairly pleased with the results. However, this year has been a nightmare with a weed explosion. Last year I noticed small patches what I believe now was of POA Triv, but thought it was an annual and completed ignored it w...

Re: Growth Stoppage
I live in central Connecticut and last yer I applied Urea on 12/01/18. I still have some very slow growth but temps dropping quick this week but look to bounce back next week so not sure when to apply Urea this year.

Spreading Borax to lawn
Hi,
I need to apply Borax at 3 tablespoons/1k and wondering on the best approach. So if my lawn is 10k, do I simply dump a bag of milorganite and 30 tablespoons of Borax into a wheel barrow, mix, pour into the spreader and spread away?

Anyone in central Connecticut dropping their final app tomorrow before it snows Thursday night and rains Friday? Temps dropping into the 20s at night but above 35-40 during the day next week.

Screamin Green fertilizer
I purchased a 50lb bag Screamin Green (16-2-3) for only $25 since it appeared to be bargain when compared to Milorganite. Surprisingly, this item is rarely discussed/reviewed on this forum and I’m curious why. Overall it seems this product offers some good attributes including: - 40% Quick Release N...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Green I’m curious why you applied Scott’s greenmax instead of Urea? 2 main reasons: 1. I got a good deal on it back in the Spring, and so bought a 40-lb bag specifically to keep for final winterizing. 40 lbs is not a normal size bag...you won't find one that big at HD or Ace. I got it at Costco. 2....

Re: fall nitrogen regimen...still no first frost ( i think)
You're welcome; that first Spring is the most important one...it can use the extra Nitrogen. Good luck! Green, when are you planning on applying Urea for your final winterizer? You are in Connecticut, right? I’m wondering if I have time to apply some Mag-I-cal lime today since we are expecting rain...

fall nitrogen regimen...still no first frost ( i think)
Sorry in advance, but have a newborn baby at home and been traveling a lot for work lately, so been very busy and just need some assistance with my fall nitrogen regimen. I promise to read Andy's fall regimen tutorial very soon, but want to make sure I'm taking the right steps since we had mild weat...

Overseeding after applying Tenacity
I just completed a lawn renovation with very good results. However, there are a few bare spots that may require overseeding (some seeds were washed away during a rain storm). I seeded my lawn on 08/25/17 and also applied scotts starter with tenacity. If today I were to lay down an additional round o...

Seed moist & peat moss too much?
Maybe a dumb question, but I'll be seeding my lawn in Connecticut this upcoming weekend. I plan to add soil moist seed coat to my grass seed (recommended rate) and will also top dress the seed with a thin layer of peat moss. Is this overkill? Will doing adding both rot my seed?
Thanks,
Thanks,

New Home - Logan Labs Soil Test Results...please help
Hello, I recently purchased a home in SW Connecticut. The house was on the market for a few seasons and unfortunately, some sections of the lawn were destroyed by grubs last summer, coupled with the drought we experienced. A few weeks ago, I removed the damaged lawn with a dethatcher and plan to res...
