Scotts hand held fertilizer spreader - too small opening
I have an old Scotts handheld fertilizer spreader and my latest bag of Espoma dried chicken manure granules are chunkier than usual. On my Scotts' widest "5" setting, they don't go through and are too thick for the opening and get jammed up. I have a small yard under 4k sq ft, and don't really want ...

Re: Generic mesotrione?
8oz of 'generic' is $48 here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L3S9FKX Compared to $69 here https://www.amazon.com/Syngenta-46256-Tenacity-Herbicide-Clear/dp/B07M9SQ9CQ Both state mesotrione 40%. I purchased an 8oz bottle of Tenacity about 8 years ago (I think I paid $65) and it ran out last fall...

Re: Any natural remedies to getting rid of clover in my yard??
I like clover in the grass as well unless it really starts to take over a large area. I've got a 6 year old 8oz bottle of tenacity which is still effective. I'll use almost 1 tsp per gal of water. One gallon is more than enough to spot spray for unwanted clover, creeping charlie, crabgrass on my 5,0...

Re: N-Ext products
I love Fulvic Acid, but I really believe that the smaller Fulvic Acid molecule is best when applied in the foliar way, and Humic Acid is best applied to the soil. There is no easy way to do both at the same time efficiently. It's either one or the other, or two apps - are you up for that? The dropl...

I can't answer your questions, but thought I would add my VT July17 analysis after yours (result and rating) for comparison. My current is in the queue and I had VT test a few years ago. I'm about 2 hours north of you in the Charlottesville area. P (lb/a) went from 158 to 222 (Very high) - (126 "ver...

Re: ERA Lundry Detergent. OK? Ingredient List.
+1 TT. Use this for your laundry, not your lawn. Some surfactants I recognize, some I don't, and I'd have to research some of the process aids. The boron in the borax is definitely a no-no, and it's enough to just say "no" to using it without any further thought. Really, I'm happy with almost all s...

Central VA, established 5,000 sq ft fescue lawn, clay soil. This year I have put down some milorganite, soybean meal, composted chicken manure, added compost (part of lawn), and one application of BLSC. Spot sprayed for weeds in spring with Tenacity. Put down some milky spore powder last season and ...

Re: Grass Seed, Grubs, Dandelions, Oh My!
My lawn care is not organic, but I would like to get to that point. I've been spot spraying my TTTF lawn here in central VA for weeds with 1/2 tsp Tenacity (mesotione liquid) to 1 gal of water. Until recently I would occasionally add in 2 tsp Triclopyr (60% butoxyethyl ester - Dow "Remedy"). Applica...

Re: Tenacity vs. Tupersan (Siduron)
I puchased an 8oz bottle of Tenacity (was about $55) from my local John Deere in 2012, and sprayed in down just before seeding for a lawn reno. I think it helped with the weeds. The reno failed for other reasons and the following season I just overseeded, then have been using the tenacity to spot sp...

Thanks for the measurements.
OK, I'll over-seed now, then apply the Boron in a couple of weeks.

Re: Soil test - another from Central Va
After watering in Boron application, what is a safe waiting period to over-seed lawn? If I over-seed now, when would it be safe to apply Boron? Any danger in applying SLS about the time of seeding?

Re: Soil test - another from Central Va
Thank you for reviewing my soil test. Sorry for the belated reply. I will apply the recommended gypsum. I have been applying milorganite and will keep doing so. It's about $12 a bag in my area. I'll be picking up a bag of 10-20-10 tomorrow. I'm also getting 6 yds of compost delivered tomorrow for ov...

Re: Soil test - another from Central Va
My local Landscape Supply reviewed the soil test results and recommended 50 lbs gypsum. They sold me OldCastle Gypsum pro pellets (70% calcium sulfate, 21% calcium, 16% sulfur, is what the label states). I also spread 50# Earthworks 3-4-3, derived from poultry manure. They sold me 25 lbs of their so...

Soil test - another from Central Va
Wow, "ImNoExpert", quite the coincidence, posting the same day. I'm also just outside C'ville with a 5,500 sq ft tall fescue lawn, in need of recommendations for my soil test results. I took 15 samples between 3-4" from the front, sides and back, mixed it up and sent off to Logan Labs and Virginia T...

tnkrer,
Would you mind posting the prices and shipping costs for your mix?
I need to order some seed as well.
Thanks,
Greg

Re: help with grass seed mix
Seedsuperstore has bewitched, but it is expensive. https://www.seedsuperstore.com/ordering/products.asp?action=details&Ident=6&species=Bluegrass I seeded last fall with their SS1000 tall fescue blend. I applied tenacity before reseeding rather than glyphosate since I mainly wanted to take out rampan...
