Re: New house = new lawn! Come inside....

What I meant is that seeding, whether it be through hydroseeing or seed/peat moss, will be a waste of money because it of the time of year. Mid to end of November in Central/Northern Maryland.

Re: New house = new lawn! Come inside....

I can get the erosion control blankets for cost. I would need about $500-$1000 worth, at cost pricing.

New house = new lawn! Come inside....

We are finishing up our new build in a few weeks. Final grading will be mid November. The County requires us to stabilize the soil before we get issued our occupancy permits. We had planned to be finished in September so I could see, but one thing led to another. Here we are at the end of October. O...

Irrigation installers in Maryland

I've been dragging hoses around for years and I'm over it. We are building a new home so I figured it's a great time to get an irrigation system.

Can anyone recommend a good company to use in central Maryland?

We will have between 1/4 and 1/2 acre of lawn. I'm hoping to spend $3k max.

Re: EOY FAS Application

I get MUCH better results doing four FAS applications. Once per week, usually starting the first week of November in my area. That usually puts me with one application after topgrowth has stopped.

Watering after disease?

Renovated lawn Sept 10th with great results and then got hit hard by Pythium last week. I applied Headway and have stopped the disease in it's tracks. There was some damage. I consider it a lot of damage, but to the most people it looks minor. With temps in the low 70s for the 10 day forecast, I too...

Re: Pythium blight and my renovation

I applied it yesterday before 3 days of forecasted rain. I'll be able to see what is going on with the lawn on Sunday when I mow. Luckily since it's going to be warm for awhile, I think I can get away with a low mow to remove most of the dead blades and spot seeding next week.

Re: Pythium blight and my renovation

It was between Subdue and Headway at my local specialty store. Both products had Pythium blight listed. Subdue was a lot more expensive for something that already costs a lot. They said Subdue is the premier product for Pythium blight but that I will just fine with the Headway and will save a lot of...

Pythium blight and my renovation

Second mow today of my current TTTF renovation. It was flawless...until...Pythium blight everywhere! I'm hitting it hard with Headway-G this evening, rain is on the way overnight and tomorrow. What can I expect to happen here? I caught it soon but the gray cobwebs were everywhere and the spots were ...

Advice on which TTTF seed to buy

I have very nice TTTF. It's thick, weed free, and dark green. Each summer I have to battle disease to one extent or another. This year I made it until August with no issues. We had a lot of rain and I have dollar spot for the first time ever. No worries, it only affected one area and it's not that b...

Grub control refresher course

I forgot to apply Merit last June/July and I paid for it bigtime. Late summer I finally realized grubs were causing my issues. I stopped them with Dylox 6.2 and the lawn recovered nicely. It's the only mistake I made and I will not make it again this year. I need a refresher course. How does this pl...

Aggressive fall fert question

How many weekly doses of 1 lb per 1,000sqft of 46-0-0 Urea do you shoot for in the fall? This is my first year doing it and I should get 4 apps in, maybe 5 before first frost.

Re: Dylox effectivity?

Dylox 6.2 says you can apply a 2nd app 7 days later, but no more than 3x per season. I had to take advantage of a second app 7 days later to kill the rest.
