Re: Future hosta bed for HLG??
Well, fantastic news.
The empress wu hosta made it. The foliage died back 100% but a month later it shot out new growth and is doing well.

Re: Please help! Fungus / leaf spot??
I'm getting alot of conflicting info though about pushing fert with leaf spot You're not getting that in this thread, nor any peer reviewed literature from reputable universities of which I'm aware. Leaf spot (melting out) is encouraged by N fertilization. It's not like rust or dollar spot. If you'...

Hostas. What are you doing to keep the Rats-on-Stilts away? Living next to a much easier to acquire food source like hundreds of acres of corn and soybeans. We get some deer traffic, but they dont hang out long. This winter one cleaned off my rosebuds. Had this other day: https://i.postimg.cc/v4353...

One thing that will help is sharpening the blades. Those tips look shredded a bit.
You are hitting it about as hard as you can with fungicide. Maybe back off the fert and let it dry out a bit.

It's that time of year for fungus. What's your fungus preventative approach?

Make sure your mower is cutting well. I see some brown tips in your top pic.

Now is a good time to hit with fungicide anyways.
ETA: Every spring i get hit with that and apply Propacanazole. Works well for my situation.
I'll do two apps, one spring and fall.

Use masonry sand. The smaller particles help.

Re: TruCut 20” assembly
Man, not much advice here other than get the service manual and reassemble.
If that's over your head 400 to save days of work would be a win in my book.
They sold you refurbished parts, not a refurbished mower. That pile of guts wont mow. I'd be unhappy.

Re: Regrading Lawn
You want to end up with a smooth surface. A harley rake is more for tearing up surface material, which helps get the material ready to move and rids you of thatch etc.
I'd see if they are going to drag it to finish it. Or you can save some money if you buy one and pull it with your own tractor.

Re: Future hosta bed for HLG??
Man I love hostas. Be careful - I stopped counting when I got to 700 of them. Yeah, I can see why. Very rewarding! My empress wu is here, suffering. I pulled off the yellow or white leaves. I want a hug plant in 5 years so I hope it makes it! Only a few of the roots don't look to be coming in. Win....

Re: Future hosta bed for HLG??
I should add, I bought an Empress Wu, and it is looking yellowed, very bad. I feel I planted it well. Lots of compost, peat moss, mixed with native soil. No fertilizer. We've had great rain for it.
But we had a late frost right after I planted it. I'm worried.

Any Hosta coming up yet, HLG? YES! My expectations have been exceeded! 80% are coming in. Most that havent have been dug up by rabbits or squirrels. https://i.postimg.cc/yD4zLd1Z/20200514-113908.jpg I still have a dozen in the fridge to fill in with. Man I love hostas.
