Re: Three Lawn Care Teams

Just ask them what cultivars performed best for your area in the NTEP? They will look at you as if you were speaking to them in Latin! lol

Was the nighttime weather hot and wet when the problem started?

Re: Performing NTEP Research

I want to find a turf species/cultivar that is resistant to a recurring issue that I have with diagnosed leaf spot/melting out. It seems that it will have to be a cultivar of KGB; I am mostly satisfied with my mostly Barenbrug Turf Star RPR lawn, so I would like to just overseed, rather than do any...

Re: Bent Grass and Tenacity

If the bent is that extensive why not nuke it and reseed in a few weeks? If you didn't want to do that, I would mow it as low as you can in two weeks, rake or power rake, apply the second application of the Tenacity, then reseed. In two more weeks hit it with the third round of Tenacity. How much ar...

Mesotrione VS Clover, Landscaping, especially Juniper?

So anyone that has experience with Mesotrione, has was it at controlling clover? I have some blue rug juniper with stubborn infestation of white clover. I tried Image (Imazaquin) with so-so success. If mesotrione didn't harm shrubs and worked well on clover, I thought that might be a good alternativ...

It’s moss.
My guess is if you walk around, everybody around there has moss too. Is that area facing north?

Re: Regrowth in Dead Patches

If you have some borders that need a cleaning up, those would work to patch up those spots. Start from the middle and work out.

Re: Leaves dropping extremely fast this year

The oaks seem to tease and hold on until December and then there is the Bradford Pear which hold until snow starts falling.

Turf in MD grows up to December, doesn't it? . August is still blasting hot. September seems good to me. TTTF sprouts in a week.

I would contact the building dept of your township. In my township soil they will shut you down for not controlling erosion.

Re: Poa Triv Invasion Counter-offensive

Interesting article on the subject. Spring battle seems to work best overall. They had no success with Tenacity. https://www.golfdom.com/an-integrated-strategy-for-controlling-poa-trivialis/ Interesting... and depressing :( Smaller areas could be patched but larger areas? The lawn might have to tak...

Re: Poa Triv Invasion Counter-offensive

For large infestations, consider beginning a renovation with Velocity applications in midsummer, followed by multiple glyphosate applications in late summer before seeding. Then apply Velocity as soon as one week following seeding — at least with creeping bentgrass — to limit rough bluegrass reesta...

Maybe someone has knowledge of ProVista being breed for glyphosate resistance?

How would one kill it if needed?

2,4-D, MCPP, (mecoprop), dicamba, etc. What stinks the most?

So I've been using Image. It's a slow, slow kill. Use a surfactant. I does work. Also good in hosta.
