Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue

I have owned both Honda and Toro. The Toro mulches better and has more suction. The cut is better when mulching on the Toro. It picks up sticks and twigs. The Honda does not. I like the controls on the Honda better and I like the plastic deck. When mulching the Honda does miss a few blades. This app...

I don't use Milo in my vegetable garden because of this. Its lawn and shrubs only for my yard.

Raked and mulched the last of the oak leaves that held on through most of the winter. Picked up a winter's worth of dog poop. filling a 5 gallon bucket.

Raked then spread tupersan, Blueberry KBG seed, and milo in the front.

Toro updates TimeMaster Engine

The old version was under powered. Hopefully the new engine fixes this issue. http://www.lawnandlandscape.com/article/ll-111416-toro-timemaster-briggs/ Toro has unveiled a new engine in Toro TimeMaster 30" mowers. New models are now equipped with a Briggs & Stratton Professional Series 1000 engine, ...

Re: Lawsuit for truck ruts in lawn?

LT I would have been pissed. I would have either called the cops and filed for a restraining order or started smashing windows with a bat. Though probably not the best reactions. If he had just explained that where you parked made it difficult for his wife I'm sure you could have found another spot....

Re: Put a Fork In It (and Then Grade It)

Tough year with the drought. Grade C overall. Front Yard Reno was a challenge. Was hoping for a nice wet spring to help it along. Had to rely on my irrigation system since mother nature was so stingy with rain. It took a very long time to fill in and I still have some bare spots where I could not ge...

I worked on a golf course and used a fly mow. They are not the best...but they get the job done. Only thing that worked on the back of high tee boxes.

Re: Fertilizer Spreaders - Let me Complain

I have this: https://www.amazon.com/Scotts-Pro-EdgeGuard-Broadcast-Spreader/dp/B004TTB0QG The edge guard works ok and does help to keep fertilizer off of driveways and out of flower beds. If you watch your disbursement pattern you can ensure good coverage with little waste. There should be some over...

Re: Dormant reseeding or spring reseeding ?

I did both this year. I had some extra seed so I threw it down in late December. Not all of it germinated but I did get about a 35% patchy success rate. It only helped my spring reno efforts. Used granular Starter/Tenacity at seed down in the spring with no noticeable negative effects on the dormant...

They make the news around here at least once a year...Turkeys terrorizing a neighborhood. Mailmen attacked. Turkeys chasing adults. I never understood that. If a turkey attacked me it would be on the carving board that night. https://www.boston.com/news/animals/2016/09/07/turkeys-attacking-people-in...
