Too much Celsius???

Watching Lawn Care Nut video. He uses A LOT of the bottle on what looks to be about 2000SF, tops. Ive only used it once, but this does not look right to me at all. I applied to 1,000SF and had the gram scale out. He has 1/3rd of the measurement cap full....for 2,000 SF. He has .39 @ 3 gallons writte...

I tried some Image Nutsage Killer earlier in the week. The nutsage just laughed.

Re: Blades

Rotary blades beat your grass, so even more of a reason to keep them sharp. In the thick of the summer with Bermuda I wouldn't go more than month without sharpening them. My mower was on it's last leg and not cutting well. Had to buy another yesterday. I normally keep a couple extra resharpened bla...

Re: What grass is this in my Bermuda?

The lowly, decrepit, St. Augustine. I feel for you bro'. Not much talk around here about St. Augustine. Every time a recommendation is made about warm season grasses, I have to double and triple check if my grass is compatible. Sheesh, I'm all alone, when looking for help. So frustrating! Ha,Ha, Ha...

What grass is this in my Bermuda?

There's patches of this "grass?" growing in my Berumda. Any idea what it is? The base of it looks like my normal 419 Bermuda, brown and stemmy, but the tips are wide. It's not bad whatever it is. It grows in super thick and chokes out the weeds, it seems pretty hardy, seems pretty shade tolerant, an...

Re: Weeds. I've lost control of my yard.

Hey Rock, I'm some 90 miles east of you, You should have a Houston Garden Center near you, or a Ace Hardware. Go and ask about there Nitro Phos Barricade Preemergence Granular. Works well for me. Then in the spring while it's cool you can use a Bonide products Weed Beater Complete Granular pre & po...

Re: Weeds. I've lost control of my yard.

Is the Scotts Pre-Em they sell at Home Depot any good? The active ingredient in Scotts Halts is Pendimethalin, which is not a crowd favorite. If you are set on buying from a box store, I would probably look for one that uses Prodiamine or Dithiopyr as an active ingredient. Most places like Ewing wi...

Re: Weeds. I've lost control of my yard.

Rockinar, you're in the south. You should have no trouble sourcing Lesco 0-0-7 with either Dithiopyr (Dimension) or Prodiamine (Barricade) at Home Depot. We're not so lucky in the north...for whatever reason. Availability may be seasonal. I have not seen any Lesco products at the HD near me. They j...

I'm not an expert, but I know that's too much which might explain fungus.

Weeds. I've lost control of my yard.

Struggling here. I'm one of the few in my hood that seems to take any pride in their yard. That said, I have the worst weed infested lawn in the hood. It's starting to look ghetto and embarrassing. It's at the point where I have lost control and spot spraying is pointless. Spot spray one week and th...

Re: Milorganite

It's organic fertilizer than also acts as dog food (they seem to think)and will stink up your whole block after it gets wet. I put 3 times the bag rate on my lawn onece and it just made it more stinky with some slime. Did not kill the grass though.

Those fake stripers work better on cool grasses.
