Re: HoosierDaddy 2024 Soil Test
Thanks, I have definitely not used a balanced fert before so I will look into those. Usually Milo in the Spring, Urea or AS in the fall.

HoosierDaddy 2024 Soil Test
I have my 2024 Logan results, with Ammonium Acetate as per recommendation. 2022 and 2023 tests linked below. Renos are long past: 3500 SqFt. back in Fall 2016, 1500sqFt front Fall 2017. Summer Patch is under control now and I do not have any real areas of concern at the moment. I will continue Compa...

Re: 2024: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
Pulled samples, drying them out before sending to Logan. First time I can remember that I don't have any spots to transplant plugs into. I usually pull a 4" plug to get the sample then transplant into a needed spot. Just filled in some soil and put the plug back. General walkthrough to see any spots...

Seedheads here as well... Continued to mow @ 2.5", sprayed Serenade. Will consider first N app of the season and putting down DiseaseX for SummerPatch prevention soon.

Re: HoosierDaddy 2023 Soil Test
Thanks Andy, very happy with the OM number. It's been a work in progress. I am going to go through and see what it looks like over time. I'll be using Milo early season and Urea for fall apps again.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

HoosierDaddy 2023 Soil Test
I have my 2023 Logan results, with Ammonium Acetate as per recommendation. 2021 and 2022 tests linked below. I did a reno of the back in Fall 2016, 3500 SqFt. Fall 2017 was a front reno of 1500SqFt. I seemed to have gotten my Summer Patch mostly under control. I do not have any real areas of concern...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mowed and put down first Serenade app. Cold and wet right now, but heat coming next week. Gearing up to tackle my neighbor's weeds while he's on vacation. I might accidentally put down a KelpHelp/Shampoo app on his lawn too

New battery powered blower
For my small property, the 20v Black and Decker I had was mostly fine. But every once in awhile, I just wanted something more. So treated myself for my birthday: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-40V-HP-Brushless-Whisper-Series-190-MPH-730-CFM-Cordless-Battery-Jet-Fan-Leaf-Blower-with-2-4-0-Ah-Batte...

Re: Forsythia line
Big difference in just my neighborhood. The one I usually keep an eye on has just started blooming, but it only gets late evening sun. One that is south facing near a brick house is full on bloomed already. Think my neighbors would mind if I took temperatures in their yards near their Forsythia, jus...

Re: HoosierDaddy 2022 Soil Test
Thanks Morph! I will keep adding OM as I can. Considering where I started (2014 was 1.5%) I am happy with the direction. I usually fertilize with Milorganite until the fall regimen, turning to Urea. Should I consider something different that has some potassium in it? I have the 20 mules if I need to...

HoosierDaddy 2022 Soil Test
Logan results in, done with Ammonium Acetate as per recommendation. 2020 and 2021 tests linked below. I did a reno of the back in Fall 2016, 3500 SqFt. Fall 2017 was a front reno of 1500SqFt. My primary area of concern is summer patch issues in the back. Heritage as a preventative and Companion apps...

Re: Repair, Reseeding and nitrogen
I had a late seed down on my second reno. It ended up successful, eventually. I did not go overboard in the fall, but hit it hard in the Spring. The Philes method helped a lot. Alfalfa, Milk, Plugs also in my arsenal. You can see my reno log here: https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=13...

Trim and mow.. lawn is waking up quite nicely with the warmth and rain of last week. Cooler weather coming. I noticed a few spots of what might be Poa Annua. Will treat soon. Also keeping an eye on soil temps in Summer Patch areas to hit proactively.

Re: Companion Biofungicide for Summer Patch
I'm about to throw my hands up on this one. I can't find what I'm looking for, namely the best biofungicide for preventing Summer Patch. A Serenade preventative regimen has done wonders for most other fungal pressure I've had. I don't mind dropping the hammer with Azoxystrobin, but was hoping that m...
