Re: An Alumnus Returns to ST6

What the... Morpheus is back?!! If he's back from not posting since 2013, the least I can do (having also not posted anything since 2013) is post a "Welcome Back!" :)

Re: Attack the Quack

I've had really good luck with Certainty and Tenacity on Quackgrass in the past. Everything you've read about Certainty is true in that there is a very fine line between killing off Quackgrass and stunting the KBG to just killing everything it gets sprayed on. If you're going to go this route, proce...

I totally agree. It's like an off-season for sports. It lets you regroup, recharge, and focus on your upcoming battle with Team Poa A&T next season.

Pink Driveways and Sidewalks?

OK, which of you is hell bent enough to paint your driveway and/or sidewalks just the right hue of pink? From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imaginary_color#Perception_of_imaginary_colors If a saturated green is viewed until the green receptors are fatigued and then a saturated red is viewed, a percep...

Re: Do you Woot?

I'd say that 1/2 of my t-shirts that I own are woot shirts. Haven't bought them as often since (1) I'm running out of space and (2) they upped the price of the daily deal from $10 to $12.

Re: Mowers - Commercial vs Residential

Haha. Good to see that I'm not the only one out there that had analysis paralysis on these mowers. :rotfl: If you really want your mower to have blade stop and are looking at Toro's, then the choice is easy. There is only one Super Recycler model that has the blade stop feature. I liked the Personal...

Re: Toro Super Recycler

The 20383 is a Super Recycler. The two dealers that I went to didn't carry the Super Bagger models, although it does look like those models are all Honda GCV-160 engines according to their website. I'm not too familiar with the Super Bagger models since they weren't available locally while I was sho...

Re: Toro Super Recycler - Best time of year to buy one

I am getting the model #20382. This has the Honda Engine. It's the same engine that comes on the Honda HRX 217 mowers (not commercial), apparently has much much better mulching capabilities, supposedly parts are more readily available, it's lighter, and less expensive. I just need to find out if it...

Around 50 degrees. The herd doesn't really go to sleep, but under 50 degrees the rate of decomposition slows down to glacial speeds.

Alright, if the is the best that they have now... So find better replacements. I agree that these games have been horribly called, but such is the nature when you get all your refs walking out at once. Re: Knowing How Soft The Soil Is...

Yes, it does. I had a really hard time deciding between the the Timemaster and the Super Recycler line. In the end, I went with the SR because I felt it would give me a better quality cut. But the 30" deck was really, really tempting.

Re: Knowing How Soft The Soil Is...

Mine was 435 lbs. 6" wide tires and 8" wide in the rear. I sold mine about a month ago. It was definitely nice to have in those hot summer months (I'll really miss it then!) and made mowing a quick task. But it really didn't mulch very well and my lawn was a bit small for it. It wasn't very practica...

Purslane is tricky due to its waxy leaf. It has only been a week since you sprayed - I wouldn't really be surprised if purslane is one of those slower kills. +1. I know that it's on the label of Tenacity as one of the weeds that it controls, but I've never had great luck with it. It could be becaus...

This is part of why I don't use the tractor in the Front (the rest is the better cut). +1. After almost three years of mowing with my tractor, the repeated mowing along the borders of my lawn with it were really starting to become apparent. http://[COMPLETELY MADE UP DOMAIN] image.com/Zrk6gl.jpg I'...

Re: Nici's 2012 Reno

Looks great Nici! I always thought it was strange that some areas of the lawn germinated so quickly while other ones that were spread at the same time take a couple more weeks to do so even when they're only a few feet away. But I had the exact same issue with my own lawn. I can't wait to see what i...
