Re: Added too much sand
No one can help you with out pictures. A visual of the soil profile and a better description of the amount of sand and area to be treated. I wouldn't spend a dime until I knew exactly what my soil analysis is and had a plan to remedy it. Terms like heavy clay are so vague no one can give an good eva...

I will be honest I didn't read your thread but your sod price caught my eye. I can get sod right from the local farm, 100% KBG for 37 cents a square foot. Shop around for sod prices. I pick it up right in the field minutes after they cut it.

What is the grade of the area?? Is is possible to install a drainage pipe under the tree and trench it to daylight?? You do not want to plant that tree in the current situation as it is sure to struggle.

Plan 2 won't work. You can't seed 30 days after dimension drop.

Re: Can i kill recently sprouted fescue seedlings with Dimen
Unfortunately I doubt anyone has experience doing what your trying to accomplish. Dimension or tenacity are options. Not sure which has better post emergent effect on fescue.... wish I could help more. I know from experience dimension does a great job at controlling seed germination when applied 2 w...

Re: Can i kill recently sprouted fescue seedlings with Dimen
I can't think of a better way to do it. I think your kbg will be fine, I just hope it will knock out the fescue for you. Might be worth checking the quinchlorac(sp?) label as it might give you another option.

Re: Mites and other insects
You surely don't want to treat if it not needed. That's a sure fire way to kill beneficials that may help keep spider mites under control. It's easy to monitor throughout the growing season doing a paper test, just google mites paper test. If treatment is needed a specific mitecide product will give...

Re: Mower Conundrum
If I could I would (hence the 'conundrum'). No way I could keep my fescue alive here in SC during the summer at 2.25 No offense but if you can keep it alive at 3-4", I can't think of a good reason it wouldn't work with sound turf maintenance practices. Also a bench HOC of 2.25 is going be yield an ...

Re: Mower Conundrum
I would look for a used tru cut c-27 and mow your entire yard with it. Once fall comes switch to your existing machine to finish out the season.

Re: Brown Patch fungus in Centipede
I am no centipede grass expert so maybe the issue is with the grass species but I would be more inclined to blame severe disease outbreak in the management practices of the turf. Specifically the watering, fertilizing and mowing techniques, rates and frequency. Make sure all those thing are done rig...

I finally got a killing frost on Monday night here in southern ME. Dipped down to 31. The annuals close to the south side of house survived but nothing on the north side made it.

Re: Need help with an idea for my hill
Inner tube or large elastic bands on the drum. Or as suggested a non skid coating painted on the drum. Don't think you will be happy with the cut quality of a hover mower since it is basically a string trimmer. Have you tried finding transport wheels that have roughly the same diameter as the drum? ...

Re: Out of time mid-reno - put down annual ryegrass or KBG?
Safe bet would be perennial rye. If your really set on bewitched now and have some extra room in your budget you could cover your lawn with landscape fabric ( not plastic, woven breathable fabric)after seeding, fert, tenacity and peat. It will act to keep soil warmer longer into the season, allow wa...

If your drag won't break up dry cores you could dry the rotary mower deck. It would beat up the blades but might break them up so you can redistribute with the drag. I will be anxious to see if this method works.

The pissing match going on between you two is getting old. I can't be the only one that is sick of it. One of you needs to be the bigger person and stop engaging in these childish spats. Re: Fusilade ii on kbg?
I just went through the label as it has been a long time since I read it. I didn't see anything on it that would make me think you can treat KBG. It seems at though the only tolerance cool season grass is tall fescue during ideal growing conditions.

That is awesome!! Congrats.
The tires look like there for greens, I will be curious to hear how they work on minor slopes. The turfs on my triplex can tear up easily if not careful.
What is your intended HOC???
