Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
I bought a Toro recycler to try out. I won't know anything for sure until I use it more as I've only mowed once. However, I do have a few observations. It seems quieter than the HRX. Maybe not quite, but the exhaust note tone is deeper and IMO less noticeable. It's definitely lighter. I haven't look...

Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
I am definitely considering getting another mower but it's tough to find reviews that mention vacuum as a feature.
I've only seen Snapper HiVacs mention it.

Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
You're probably right Nocsious. I bet most people cut low and never notice how poor the vacuum is.
I cut at 3" or more and the lack of vacuum is very noticeable.
Having some vacuum would be useful for lifting the grass for mowing, especially if it gets a fair amount of foot traffic.

Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
Maybe you don't, but it seems quite a few people do. This board is littered with posts about these mowers having no vacuum.
I wish somebody made an aftermarket high lift blade to swap in.

Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
This is a common problem with these mowers. I have an HRX 217 and the suction is non existent. I cut at 3" minimum, usually higher, and it won't lift grass to get cut. Since nobody makes replacement blades for these mowers, you are stuck with what you have. This is a great mower in every way, except...

Re: another mowing height question
How is the vacuum on the deck compared to the HRR?
I have an HRX and there is essentially 0 vacuum so it doesn't stand grass up to be cut.
I was looking at Super Recyclers for possible replacements.

Re: Honda HRR 216 cut quality
I have an HRX and people have reported the same problems so buying one would not eliminate your problem. I have not had this problem myself. My only issue is that that the mower has virtually zero vacuum. I can roll over grass that is not erect and it will not get cut leaving a poor cut appearance. ...

Re: No Peeing Signs?
I have the same problem in my neighborhood. Luckily I haven't had any burning from pee however I keep a close eye out and if I see somebody's dog crapping on my lawn, I watch to make sure they pick it up, per local bylaws. Twice I have watched somebody start walking off after leaving a poop and I co...

I haven't been able to find any alternative blades for this mower. It seems the only blades available are the twin blades from Honda.

Re: fixing wheel tracks
I thought about buying one of those $300 Snapper mowers from Walmart to see if they actually have suction.
Of course I'm not to keen on replacing a $600 mower I bought last year. Lol.

Re: Toro awd recycler vs my hxr217
I have considered replacing my HRX 217 even though it's an awesome mower. I would like a mower that actually has suction to stand the grass back up. The Honda has zero vacuum. I can roll over a footprint and it will look exactly the same. I just bought the Honda last year and I'm not too anxious to ...

Re: Toro updates TimeMaster Engine
I subscribe to a guy named Ryan Knorr on YouTube and he just recently had a video on this mower. He replaced his older Timemaster with the new model specifically because of the new engine.
Check out his channel, it's good stuff.

Re: Rounded-off blade bolt
There is no reason to use an impact wrench on a blade bolt. Even cheap impact wrenches can generate 200+ foot lbs of torque. You should use torque limiting sticks and a pressure regulator whenever using an impact wrench regardless. Better to use a socket and torque wrench for the best results and no...

Re: fixing wheel tracks
Unfortunately this is the one big flaw in an otherwise fantastic mower. My HRX produces virtually no suction and will not stand grass up The higher you go, the worse it gets.

Re: Lawsuit for truck ruts in lawn?
There are laws regarding these kind of parking situations and for good reason. Depends on your locality but in general, you cannot leave a vehicle parked on the street in the same spot for more than 72 hours or it is considered abandoned and can be towed. You also cannot park within 4 feet or so of ...

Indeed.
Wells it's been 5 days and I'm not seeing any dwad grubs at the surface.
I have watered several times since the initial application so it's definitely been watered in.
