Re: What type of grasses are these?
Can you tell any difference in the KBG? I've always wanted to see JumpStart KBG.

Re: Award KGB in the Transition zone
Ok pics. 1st 2 are NuGlade, midnight and SPF. Last one is tttf in the middle surrounded by what I believe it's spf30. The color difference is much more noticeable in the pics https://s33.postimg.cc/lczvjg9ej/IMG_20180813_133724197.jpg https://s33.postimg.cc/xev9dkvhn/IMG_20180813_133753896.jpg https...

Re: Award KGB in the Transition zone
I'm late to the party. Here's my spf30 and Hogan TTTF blend in NC (Winston-Salem). Major dry spell, but is guess the lawn is now 65% hbg and with the rain needing to be mowed every 4 days. August and may picture. The dead spots are partially from heat and the contractors washing their crap No pictu...

Re: Award KGB in the Transition zone
What does he say about them? I didn't have much luck with them myself, but I was thinking of giving them another shot, since my regular KBG lawn got fried this year. I wanted to get some Spitfire this year instead of the SPF30, but even though his website says they sell it, he hasn't ordered any be...

Organic Pre-Emergent (Pre-Emerg)
I stumbled across this product, it looks to be soybean oil that apparently works on crabgrass and dicot seeds by "burning the seed hairs" and preventing germination. Marketing says you can even use it at seed down. I'm assuming if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Like CGM is a decent organi...

Re: Award KGB in the Transition zone
Just wondering if you have any current pics of how the Award has been holding up through summer. It looks like its in full sun. Thanks in advance! I'm not far from you in Winston-Salem. My KBG front yard is full sun and is doing well. It's Midnight and Nuglade. I focused all of my attention on the ...

Is this the same guy that has YouTube videos of himself eating worms?
I'm of course kidding, but I think that sounds like a fun YouTube search query...

Re: New sod now has tons of Poa Annua
I looked at the seed heads and stalk and the ligule is present. So it is definitely annua. So, how or what do I say to the landscape company that installed it? It's a common lawn pest. I would let it naturally die this spring/summer and make sure you are applying pre-emergent in the fall (or late s...

Re: Micronutrient Application question. use cracked corn as a "vehicle"?
I can't comment on the the cracked corn as a delivery vehicle, but I've never had an issue with it sprouting. I do know several people who struggle to get corn to grow in general, but worse case scenario it should be taken care of with a few mowings.

I remember an old post where a member repeatedly sprayed his hostas with Roundup, he could never kill them. Still unsure why he didn't just dig them up.

Barricade or Dimension worked well for me. I don't have them at my new house, but I used to pull see heads from the deck and stay on the pre-emergent

Re: Scotts DiseaseEx - Azoxystrobin 0.31%
Ok, all I see on the label as far as usage restrictions is the amount per application, the application interval, and then stuff about not applying more than 37 lbs/K per year, reentry interval, toxicity/environmental concerns, etc. Didn't see anything about not applying it 18 times in a row every 2...

Interesting. I've always just used Serenade and/or Actinovate liquid.
When using a granular fungicide like this, do you apply to a dry lawn or wet the grass prior to application?

If you can drop fertilizer now without consequence, why wait?
I'm assuming early fertilization in the past hasn't lead to any problems or disease?
But I agree with the above, it may be cultivars.

Re: KBGkicksazz lawn project
House looks great. Obviously I'm in a very different climate in NC, but I'm always concerned about spring renovations. Usually it's a constant fight with weeds, water and germination, but you'll have better luck than I would (and have had in the past). If you think you won't be happy with the spring...

Re: Top Dressing Conundrum - Peat Blowing Away
You should be fine if you rolled the seed in and keep the seed bed moist. PRG grows fast. What is your watering schedule? I typically do 4-15 minutes 3-5x per day, but I don't know what your sprinkler coverage looks like. You may need more or less time. But my last reno I ran 4 impact sprinklers on ...
