2018 Yard Pics
Hello all, Just wanted to start a 2018 Yard Pics Thread. I really enjoy seeing all the great looking lawns from the folks on this forum. So I'll start with mine. Did my first bagged cut/higher setting (rotary mower) back in 20 Feb. 3 days later I lowered is to its lowest setting/ scalping my hybird-...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Applied my first lawn feed with Milorganite (6-4-0, I believe last year it was 5-2-0). I use the standard warm season holiday feeding schedule. Also, I could not find any yard pics for 2018. I enjoy seeing pics of great looking lawns. Can we get that started for 2018? Or is it as simple as making a ...

Re: Bermudagrass germination vs. Weeds
Unfortunately, I don't think there's much you do without risking killing the young grass. Just let the grass take root which would safely be in about a month or so. I suggest tackling the young weeds as you see them by hand in an effort not to damage the new grass growth. Once your new grass has est...

Re: Advice needed on Bermuda Grass
Cptcameron, just curious on how the lawn project is coming. And are you using the deep watering method (once a week about a inch of water is what you want (I take the natural rain into consideration). Also, don't put down in pre-emergent if you need to re-seed and from the looks of it you will need ...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Came home from Mexico after a 10 day trip to 1-1.25" Bermuda. I've been maintaining at around 7/16" but had to raise it to 5/8" today. Haven't fertilized since oct 1st 2016. We had only 2 nights at around 32F. Temps right now avg at 65-70 Highs and 50-55F lows. https://s6.postimg.cc/ji919vqot/IMG_4...

Re: How does TruGreen do it??
Well around these parts, "Tru-Green" seems to be a waste of money. Though, there is a another service called "Weed-Man" and they seems to be fairly weed-free, but the grass is rarely green...let me clarify, if one is paying for a lawn service one's lawn should look great not just okay. I get complim...

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
I haven't been taking as many pictures this year, sometimes I feel like one of those people that take selfies for social media all day. I was watering the grass around my storm drain of death today and noticed the density of the Bermuda was holding the hose like it was cement! Looked cool, so I sna...

Re: What's your secret in beating drought stress?
Wiredawg, How much water, in inches, are you putting down per "deep and infrequent" watering cycle? How deep is that water penetrating into the soil? On my yard, 1" of watering gets me about 3-4 days before I HAVE to water again. 1/2" of watering ALSO gets me about 3-4 days before I have to water a...

Re: What's your secret in beating drought stress?
Hello folks...let me try a direct question regarding watering. Grass type:plain old Bermuda, nothing fancy in clay type soil, location; middle Ga area 100 miles south of Atlanta...temps from the last few weeks been in the mid 90s - 100s(hot) and random very spotty thunderstorms. For the most part, I...
