Re: String trimmer edging technique?
I hold mine low like I would for normal trimming, but turn it 90* in my hands. The head and string will be perpendicular to the ground, I then walk backwards. I find holding it low like this lets me have good control and walking backwards isn't hard, I thought it would be when I was first told to tr...

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
Man I am jealous of all these pictures, glad I got on and looked though as I've not even visited the site in a few weeks. I do not have to time nor the motivation this season so my yard is getting neglected, I'll get it back next year. I've gone from mowing every three days with the 220E to once a w...

Q: What was that machine you were using the other day, were you aerating?
A: no that is my mower, just mowing.

Re: Shade "Tolerant" Bermuda?
Celebration Bermuda is surprising me, I planted some sprigs in a spot of my yard that gets practically zero direct sun. It's shaded by trees all day if it gets any direct I'm talking maybe an hour in the morning. Anyway the handful of sprigs, which I planted as everything was going into dormancy in ...

Re: Ware's Bermuda Lawn Leveling Project...
Man that's looking good, I can't wait to do my level project in a few months, I'm timing it with my next pre emergent app. For what it's worth I'm planning on using a Georgia buggy to distribute and a nice pallet as a drag.

Re: Centipede Sod Help
If mowing once a week and at high HOC is what you are after, head to lowes and buy what they have on the shelf. That is what most of my back yard is, which I regret cause I want better and didn't know what I was doing at the time. But it can be mowed once a week at the hight you want and look/be jus...

Re: Centipede Sod Help
First had experience here with seeding bermuda into an existing centipede lawn, it was pretty much a waste of money in my case. Very little of the seed ended up taking due to the centipede just being too thick, I might would have better luck now as I've hurt the centipede quite a bit by catering to ...

Re: To much of a fight
In my humble opinion the improvement in cut from a reel is worth the extra hassle in maneuvering. I've noticed great improvement in my lawn sense switching over.

Re: Bought John Deere 220A
220E has a max of 1.3", this is firsthand experience as this is my mower. Pretty sure I remember finding the 260 models are the same if not higher. From my research 260's are meant to be used more for tee boxes and approaches which are mowed higher than greens.

Re: A Southern Louisiana yard
Just north of BR, nice looking house, I'll take a stab and say you live in Zachary, but BR is close enough. From the pictures it is hard to tell what grass is the dominant one, so I'd suggest you decide what you want and how much dedication you want to have to the care of the lawn. An LSU soil test ...

Re: DIY Pet Waste Septic System
I am lucky enough to be able to dispose over my back fence, but I thought about making a disposal spot. I was going to use a 6" pvc buried about 2' with a screwed on cap. My thought was to put the waste in and hit it with a hose to break it down, it would just be in the pipe and a contained mess/ mu...
