Re: Max dose mixing triclopyr & tenacity
Masbustelo, that sounds like a safer way to go. I'll plan for 1/2 dose of triclopyr and full dose tenacity. Pway, what concentration triclopyr are you using and what area are treating with the 3 gallon mixture? 8%, about 600 sq fee for the three gallon mix. I actually used the three gallon mix then...

Re: Max dose mixing triclopyr & tenacity
I'm looking to put down triclopyr next weekend and would like to mix with tenacity for added effect. Do folks typically mix at the max dose of each, or should I cut back on them? I would be applying to a mix of kbg and tttf. I put down Trimec weed killer a week ago (2,4-D, Mecoprop-p, Dicamba), so ...

Re: Poa Triv Explosion...Comfort me
Anyone had issues with squirrels spreading Triv? I had a serious problem with squirrels digging hold last year, particularly in the fall. I'm talking 70-80 holes in my 1/5 acre plot over a 2-3 month period. I initiated the Squirrel Relocation Program but the damage was done. During that same time I...

Re: Poa Triv Explosion...Comfort me
https://i.postimg.cc/MXKYYhdy/20210516-183424.jpg This is why I am so upset. I thought I was doing the right thing(other than just blasting 3-4 lbs. Of seed over a KBG lawn mowed at 3.75"). I can't believe they would just be slapping labels on stuff. I have no issues what so ever paying top dollar ...

Re: Poa Triv Explosion...Comfort me
What does triv seedhead look like? I thought triv didn’t make seedheads if the grass was cut at normal heights. https://extension.umd.edu/resource/roughstalk-bluegrass https://weedid.cals.vt.edu/profile/620i I don’t always get to edge or trim the entire lawn. I see seed heads mostly around trees or...

Re: Poa Triv Explosion...Comfort me
I have seen more triv this year than ever before. I have seen triv seed heads in my lawn and and elsewhere. I also think the deer in the area graze on it in nearby woods and wetlands and crap it out everywhere, it then spreads. I’m sure my lawn, the golf course, and parks were not caused by contamin...

Re: Preventative fungicide program
Thanks folks. I’ve got Heritage, Serenade, and Bio-advanced so I think I’ll rotate and begin in a week or two. I had about a 3000 sq ft area last year that had fungal problems. I did not do a preventative but used Heritage and Bio at curative levels, to little avail...

Preventative fungicide program
I think some folks on the board start a preventative fungicide program mid May or so. This past winter and this spring have been very wet here and I’m wondering what plans people have (for those that do preventative spraying). Thanks.

I’ve had success with Ortho CCO (thriclopyr) against hairy bittercress and chickweed—I’m not sure which is in you picture.

Re: Zoysia Grass Question
In my experience, Mesotrione won’t kill zoysia with a single application. It probably won’t kill it with 2 or 3 applications either. Zoysia is very hard to kill unless you use roundup multiple times. Just my opinion/experience.

Re: When or tackle Poa annua
I will definitely put down Dimension in late August but wonder if it is worth hitting with Tenacity now. If by the above you mean a one-and-done application, it''s destined to fail. If you mean a well-planned and executed regimen, you can be pretty successful. Yes, I mean multiple applications whil...

When or tackle Poa annua
I have battled Poa annua for several years and have had good results in my front yard in a shady area by spraying Tenacity to kill it and Dimesnion to suppress new germination. I also have a large patches (maybe 100’ by 6’) in the back closer to the house and patio. Last late summer I skipped Dimens...

Re: Bentgrass/Clover/POA
My thought is: Are you 100% positive it is bentgrass? As far as I have been able to tell and thats also what JG thought when I sent a photo (the dead grass that you can see pulls away from the soil) https://i.postimg.cc/bDdm24Bs/20201121-170452.jpg It’s not always easy to tell from a picture but th...

Re: Bentgrass/Clover/POA
First post on this board. I have been scouring this board and have found what looks to be a place where I can hopefully come away with a real plan for my issues, so TIA. Some background: I live Metro Detroit Michigan in an old 40's bungalow neighborhood. My grass is a northern mix, KB, TF, PR. I re...

Re: Status of POACure? (Updated 02/2020 below)
Just want to provide a quick update on the use of Poacure at the golf course I belong to. The area that the grounds super used it on (a fairly long par four fairway and rough) is pristine and no reemergence of Poa Trivialis. The guy, and I, are really impressed. Pway how is the the area with Triv l...

I got a price list from Pawnee Buttes Seed and they have certified sod Bewitched for $4 per lb (but this is based on a 50 lb purchase. I have used them before as well as SUperseedstore.

(cough) try Tenacity (cough). (cough) At your own risk, if that doesn't work, add a tablespoon of DMSO (dimethylsufloxide) to the mix. It won't harm grass, but you absolutely must wear long pants, long sleeved shirt, and impenetrable gloves like rubber, latex, or nitrile while applying this. And sh...

Controlling a lesser Celandine
Has any one had success if controlling Lesser Celandine? I see most university extension sites say only roundup will control it while a couple say triclopyr or a three-way will work. I have a friend who recently bought their house and the backyard is totally infested with it. Thanks
