Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
I feel crazy but my Bermuda and zoysia are starting to green up. I ended last season with my rotary so I did a scalp on its lowest setting and then made one cut with my reel.

Re: Another primo question.
No i have not calibrated, i am going to buy a backpack sprayer soon. I like the idea of a blue marking agent. Sent from my iOS device using the Yard Help App I use a blue dye, it says to mix at 1oz per 10 gallons. That was alright when I was spraying pre emergent and the grass was yellow this sprin...

I was thinking Bahia too then saw the other two saying it and I agree. That reddish tint gives it away.

Re: Gonna try a brisket again!
that smoke ring looks nice. I did a double take at your price too. I have never seen them that cheap. I was curious how it would turn out letting it rest for so long too. Most of what I have seen doesnt recomend beef resting for that long. I am possibly trying one for the 4th. we will see though. Lo...

Re: Primo Maxx
This is from another thread but I wanted to add it to this one as it seems to be a very highly informative thread. I know it is kind of late to put out PreM but I sprayed Primo(Generic), Celsius and Prodiamine and mixed them all together without any ill effect so far. I guess in the next week or two...

Re: Leveling project, 2016 progress
You could dig up the areas and fill and the place the sod back on top of it slightly higher than your grade. It will settle over time.

Re: Leveling project, 2016 progress
I feel like I would have results similar to yours. I have some bad areas. I'm cutting with a 26" tee/collar mower and it does surprisingly well but I feel that because it's so wide I don't scalp some areas I normally would with say a 18 or 21".

Ole Miss Turf to Grass
Im a big ole miss fan and we are doing a stadium renovation and also switching from turf to Bermuda. They have been documenting the transition and it was neat to watch. The grass is finally in and some of you might enjoy seeing the process. Stadium Cam . That one takes a picture about every 30 minut...

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
So a few weeks ago i posted pics of my pathetic new turf laid down by my builder. After researching i found out he laid sod on almost nothing, obviously he skimped on laying down quality soil. I decided to core aerate, lime, top dress with compost and aggressively fertilize. The results have been A...

I have never seen zoysia go crazy. It's a slower grower. But once it fills in... It's awesome.Main_sail22 wrote:I thought after removing some thatch it would go crazy....

Is this a weed or a different kind of grass?
That is purple nutsedge. Pulling does nothing. Nutsedge has little balls called nutlets underground that are very hard to pull and unless you get the nutlets it will come back. Most big box stores sell Image nutsedge killer. They will take about a week or two to kill it off. http://m.homedepot.com/p...

Re: Anyone have a YouTube channel?
I havent done any grass/yard videos yet but yesterday I was fortunate to find out the Blue Angels were doing a "Final Flight" for Captain Jeff Kuss from Pensacola Beach to Perdido Key. He was aboard the C-130 called Fat Albert. I made a quick video and put it on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: 2 acres for a backpack sprayer
I have a backpack and a tow behind. I have tighter areas I can't even get my tow behind into. I would highly recommend the tow behind and another smaller sprayer. There are also times you only need one or two gallons and the tow behind would be cumbersome.

20 might be high for seeds. Check to make sure it's not too much and puddling.

Re: Tiffway Bermuda Density Help
Either way: less mowing, less seed head production, darker green color, better root growth and denser turf. Just to clarify you are talking about proxy here not primo when you are referencing less seedheads. And they are typically used in conjunction. I would hate for somebody to think primo is goi...
