Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Wasn't able to cut yesterday, coupled with PGR wearing off... I scalped a few sections. Hoping I can get some put down tomorrow after work.

If only I had friend in Oklahoma that has installed his own irrigation to help me.... Someone never responded to my request for an extra shovel man during next years leveling extravaganza [ Post made with a 100% green lawn ] I don't recall that, but it sounds like a party! Looking at jd220sl
If it's the one I've seen on eBay (I've been looking too), then it has a brush groomer not a metal slicing groomer.
I'd take the brush if it was available, but from what I've read the metal cutting type is more geared for Bermuda. I don't have either, so take take it for what it's worth.

Re: Looking at jd220sl
That's a good price (depending on S&H), the engine is a Honda and parts should be easy to acquire. I say get it, and work on it slowly over the winter if needed then start fresh next spring!!

Re: Mid-season Scalp?
Day 7 and I'm back to about 70%!
I'm guessing it would look even better (80-90%) if I had a full irrigation system or some good rainfall.
It is, what it is!

Re: There's no school like the old school
Such a simple mower, I wonder why they don't make something like that in the states for $300-400? I guess the market demands just don't exists.

Mid-season Scalp?
Well, it's about as slow as the warm season forum right now.... I gave it a cut @ 0.375 and will wait for the 40% chance of rain to drop from the sky! Here is a close up of spot I scalped at 0.227 ImageUploadedByYard Help1472249593.515216.jpg This is the same area of the close up I posted a few days...

Re: Surfactant Use
I assume surfactants are only applicable for foliarly absorbed chemicals, not for pre-emergents, etc. that are for the soil surface. Is this correct?
