Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Today I’m mowing and edging #2 this week. Got my test back. I’m fertilizing with a high N and 0 P and K. I have some compost in my truck. I’ll spread It in my back yard today. Lastly, I’m going to spray chelated iron front and back. This could end up being today and tomorrow.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Put pre-emergent down yesterday. I’ll repeat around the end of March.

Soil amendments lots of questions.
This was my first summer in my home. I have no top soil whatsoever. The Bermuda is growing in a clay-like soil that is rock hard and drains like my driveway. I've been trying to put some life in my soil this summer, although I started kind of late. I have put one application of Scott's Foundation, w...

Re: Need help with my lawn.
Atlanta is starting to get some low temps at night. Rule of thumb, Bermuda starts to go dormant around 50. Even though you are not averaging 50, your healthy Bermuda growth will slow way down at this time. Since you cut off most of the of the plant, it is not doing much photosynthesis which which cu...

PH question
This should probably be in the Soil Management forum. I don't think anyone looks there unless they are having a test. Admin, please move if you need to. I moved into my home in DFW, a little less than 6 months ago. The house is 7 years old and the Bermuda lawn appears to have had very little care. I...

Pre-emergent question
I know that pre-emergent should be put down in the spring when the soil temperature reaches 55. I live in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex and the local gardening guru says to put it down between March 5 - 15. I've been following that date for a long time and have been less than satisfied with the ...

Re: Roundup to my Dormant Bermuda
Just a warning, I too live in DFW and my Bermuda is not 100% dormant. If you spray roundup on semi-dormant Bermuda, you will have some dead Bermuda on your hands. Mine vary rarely goes completely dormant.

Rainbird ST8x controller
Does anyone have the ST8 and use the Rainbird App? I am fine with most of it but I cannot figure out to run a manual cycle of all zones using the app. For example, I had my system shut off for a week and suddenly decided it needed watered right now. The app does not seem to have that ability. I cann...

Re: Ants
You know, I don't see them around food. They come in on our window sills in several windows and occasionally on the floor below the windows but we've not seen them around food (knock on wood).

First of all, my participation here has fallen way off the last couple of years because I took a job that keeps me away from home most of the time thus I haven't had time to spend on my yard like I want to. I apologize for coming on here and asking a question after so long. I still pop in here and r...

Woodsorrel
I'm having a difficult year. We are under water restrictions so my lawn is not as healthy as I'd like. I have a particular weed in my Bermuda that is enjoying the growing conditions. From everything I can tell, it's a type of Woodsorrel. It looks like a 3 leaf clover, grows very low, spreads very qu...

Re: New Bermuda Sod HELP !!!!!!!
Did this guy reset your irrigation? Did you explain that you only changed the settings because his original settings allowed the grass to go brown? I'm very skeptical that you are overwatering. New Bermuda needs lots of water multiple times a day as several people have described, until the roots are...

Re: BL Soil Conditioner question
Wow, I don't think my lawn would live if we had to go to stage 3. We're still stage 1 in North Richland Hills.Spammage wrote:I wasn't clear - you stated on your watering days, twice a week - and unfortunately we can only water once every two weeks.

Re: BL Soil Conditioner question
Mostly, what goes faster is the money leaving your wallet. Well, I was afraid of that. You probably would have stated in the original instructions if it could be done sooner. Thank You, Andy, and I'll just be patient and do a little extra hand watering, which is allowed. Anyone who hasn't tried thi...

Nope, I am asking if I can do it more often. 2x per week was my suggestion but I'll defer to the experts.

BL Soil Conditioner question
The BL Soil Conditioner has worked so well the last couple of years that I forgot to do any maintenance doses this year. Now that we have arrived at the hundred degree mark, the combination of temperature and water restrictions have caused my front lawn to deteriorate a bit. I have a sloped front la...

Re: Sedgehammer questions
I've not seen "Certainty" around here but will look for it. I sprayed the Sedgehammer on Monday and we have had 100 degree days since. There is one spot that they Bermuda has yellowed a bit but I wonder if I accidentally hit it twice. I'll probably go out and hit it again in a week, since it was pre...
