Re: Bermuda Seed Head Expression

This seems to happen every year around this time. I've been on this forum about 3 years and from what everyone else says it will come and go in a few weeks. I'm having the same problem right now and I'm just south of the city in Coweta county. Cutting shorter may help some. At first I though my blad...

Re: Did I already goof this up?

Yes, this is definitely lower than I was mowing last year. I ended up at 3 inches by the end of the season and it was the first year I had the yard. It came leaps and bounds but never really popped and I'm probably just impatient because I see how it was last year. Do you think I should stick with ...

Re: Did I already goof this up?

Thanks! What height and frequency were you cutting at with the Fiskars? I'm not too worried about the small bare spots as those have been filling in nicely for the temperatures we've been having. I'm concerned with all the brown stubble below the grass. My thatch layer in most of the yard is not ev...

Re: Did I already goof this up?

I think your grass just needs more time to completely green up and fill in. I deal with this every spring where some parts look great and others appear to still be brown and dormant. Last year I went nuts with a dethatching rake and had bare soil in my front. I left my back alone and it all looked t...

Re: Today is the day for tpac (primo)!

I've made 3 applications so far this year and it really works well. My last application was during the day with temps in the 90's and I didn't have any negative effects.

Good luck !!

Re: What's happening to my Bermuda?!!

Looks like seedheads to me. When they are cut they look like dry straw laying on the lawn. Usually seedheads are a result of stress such as lack of water or nutrients.

Re: Primo Maxx

Just another update on my first time results using generic T-Pac. This past Monday (4th of July of course) was 21 days from my 1st application @ 0.38/k on my front lawn. I put down a 2nd application around 8pm at the same rate mixed with FAS @ 4oz/k and marker dye. The outside temperature had droppe...

I'm a big believer in education, research, and scientific study. However, academic credentials aren't everything. I'm glad you included "practical credentials" in the list. By so doing, at least you're not excluding folks such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Thomas Edison -- each...

Lateral lines for septic tank??? Sent from my iOS device using the Yard Help App Agree......... but my lines are normally green as it's the drainage field and usually stays moist in those locations. Side note. If it's staying moist, you might need to have the lines balanced out to more evenly distr...

Re: Wetting agent/surfactant

Have you tried doing a Beer treatment ? It's very simple and effective! Take 1-3 bottles of your favorite local brew, maybe an IPA? You then pour one full bottle into a chilled glass and consume, repeat until all 3 are gone. Works for me! :D This is the best advice I've seen so far.....going to try...

Re: Help reclaiming a spruce bed from grass

Welcome to the forum and Georgia. I'm just south of Atlanta - hope you like hot and muggy weather !! This is tough because bermuda grass, once established is so difficult to get rid of. I'm not an expert but would think anything that will kill the bermuda would definetely harm the spruce. Cheap but ...

Just a quick update on my 1st time results. I'm very pleased and can tell that the T Pac has taken effect. I mowed Monday evening before applying the T Pac that same evening @ 0.38/k and just mowed again today. Very little clippings compared to normal and I assume it will be better next time I go to...

Another convert here........sprayed the front with T Pac and I'm very excited to see the results. The yard has been a little stressed with lack of rain - lots of seedheads for several weeks so I hope the treatment doesn't hurt it too much. I did water this morning and gave it a fresh cut before app...

Re: Is Freuent Mowing Harmful To Grass?

Last year I really began working on my lawn and following the advice of members here on ATY. I went from mowing once a week to almost 2 - 3 times a week and noticed a big improvement on my lawn and its ability to spread and thicken up. Bermuda grass loves the frequent cutting..........maybe some St....
