Backyard Mud Pit
I moved about 8 month ago in Georgia. The house didn't really have a usable backyard as it sloped too much. I hired a contractor to redo everything (retaining wall, re-grade, irrigation, and sod). They installed zoysia and everything seemed fine for a few months. The backyard is shadier than I thoug...

Zoysia Root Barrier
I'm in Georgia and I have Zenith Zoysia around my property. It doesn't really migrate much in my backyard, but it creeps outside of my preferred areas in the front a good bit. I have an asphalt drive and the zoysia loves to grow through the edges of it and a mulched area where the grass thrives. Two...

Best Herbicide For Mulched Areas?
My backyard has about 3,000 sq ft zoysia and is mostly surrounded by pine bark mulch. The mulched area is probably 75ft x 30ft. I put down a pretty thick layer last year, ~4-5", and all sorts of weeds are growing through the mulch without an issue. Other than just spraying the entire area with Round...

Yeah I can just turn it off at the street and drain the line.

New Irrigation Meter - Capping Old Line
http://postimg.cc/image/sywazhk19/ Long story short, Atlanta charges obscene water rates. I had an irrigation meter installed at the street and I want to tie it into my new system. I can do most of the work myself, but I was wondering about capping the old line that runs off my main inbound water li...

Re: Thining Zosyia
I checked my treatment history and there doesn't appear to be any fungicide treatments in the last year. It's hard to see in the pictures, but I don't think the thinning is a result of disease. There's no tell tale border of any patch disease. The soil is pretty firm and dry where the grass has thin...

Re: Thining Zosyia
@Spammage - I'll see if I can find some pictures from last summer. I believe my chemical treatment company put down a fungicide last year.
@Jayhawkmba - Water drains very well from that area. The yard is on a slight slope from right to left. I've never seen water pool on that area.
Thanks Guys

Thining Zosyia
I'm in Atlanta and for the past year or so I've noticed that my backyard continues to thin out. I'm fairly sure I have Zenith zoysia. It was sodded ~5 years ago and I've been in the house for almost 3 years. I have a chemical company that does all of the fertilizer and emergent applications. Other t...

Controlling Neighbor's Rain Run Off
http://s21.postimg.cc/kso75jher/2015_08_22_15_40_20.jpg Hey Guys, I'm looking to install a drainage solution to control the run off from my neighbor's yard. It's only an issue when we get heavy rainfall, but as you can see from the picture my sidewalk gets washed out a good bit. Water comes under m...

Re: New Irrigation Meter Tie In - Can I DIY?
I am a big diy guy but plumbing scares me. Like you said, maybe work a deal where you do the digging and have the plumber make the connections at the house? Haha that describes me pretty well. I'd be okay installing a toilet or something, but running water lines behind dry wall makes my heart race.

New Irrigation Meter Tie In - Can I DIY?
I try to DIY around the house when I can. I'm having the city install a second water meter, irrigation water only, this fall to cut down my water bill. My existing irrigation system is currently tied into the main line running to the house. Picture a straight line pipe running from the street to the...

Re: Wifi Sprinkeler Controller Review
I got a Rachio for my birthday from the in-laws a few weeks ago. I love it. The app is really slick and they have a pretty nice web portal as well. Customizing the watering schedule is about as easy as it gets. I haven't used its smart watering feature yet.

Re: Zoysia - Front yard only looks good in a few spots
Thanks guys. I'm pretty stingy with my watering so that's likely the issue. I only run my system to supplement rainfall so that the yard gets 1" a week and given the heat we've had its probably half of that. We have the highest water rates in the country and putting 2" of water on my lawn every week...

Zoysia - Front yard only looks good in a few spots
http://s22.postimg.cc/v5ojiiwn1/Image.jpg Hey guys, for the life of me I can't figure out why my yard looks great in the areas I've circled and looks somewhat dormant in the remaining area. In the blue areas the blades are a deep lush green color and generally grow at 2-3x the rate of the remaining...

Re: What Variety of Zoysia Do I Have?
Thanks! It sounds like I should have scalped the yard when the first green shoots started to emerge. I'm going to de-thatch it in June when I have some time on my hands.

What Variety of Zoysia Do I Have?
Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum and this question has been bugging me. I bought my house two years ago and I've kept the yard in pretty decent shape. The last owner completely re-sodded in 2008 I believe. I'm in Atlanta and I lost a few patches to what I thought was winter kill from last year's winte...
