Re: Help!!! lawn is in bad shape!!

Justin, I live less than an hour west of you just outside of Huntsville. My recommendation is to not overseed but to try and grow your existing bermuda. If you apply the recommendations given here on this forum you will be successful. My yard was an awful mess a few years ago but I started working a...

Re: REALLY OLD Tru-Cut. Need advice

I had one almost exactly like this until I sold it a few months ago. On mine there was a height adjustment lever on the left side (if behind the mower) close to the handlebar. It worked fairly well. I believe I had to loosen some bolts to get it to work correctly but once I did that it would adjust ...

I picked up 15 bags of 10-10-10. I may try to grab a few more to have enough to finish out the season and all of next season.

That sounds to me as if the ignition coil has gone bad. I agree with the previous poster about checking the spark.

Re: Summer Dormancy

Bermuda needs water to grow and remain green. If you water it deeply or get some rain it should recover fairly quickly.

Re: Pole Saw Exhaust Burned Grass

I sorta did the same thing a few days ago. I noticed a dead spot appear close to the gate that I go through to get to the front yard from the back yard. I thought it might be a fungus or some type of insect that caused the damage but the next time I mowed I realized that without thinking about I had...

Re: Extreme Newby Problems!

You may want to spend some time browsing the soil management and compost forum to decide if you want to get a soil sample and have it analyzed by ST6. That has helped me greatly. One thing they will tell you even without a soil sample is to not use weed-and-feed but apply the fertilize separately fr...

Re: Need Assistance with Bermuda Front Lawn

That looks like crabgrass to me. Celsius should take care of it for you. Then apply a pre-emergent in the fall and spring to prevent it from coming back.

Re: Lawn Mower trouble - please help

I've noticed a smell from my leaf blower after adding seafoam to the tank. I couldn't say what it smelled like but it was a different smell that I attributed to the seafoam.

Re: Lawn Mower trouble - please help

I always start small and work my way up to bigger things. It sounds like you have done most of the basic things. I know there are different opinions on sea foam but if you try it and it works for you then that is a heckuva lot easier and cheaper than rebuilding a carburetor. My mower (Troybilt w/Hon...

Re: Lawn Mower trouble - please help

A few things to try: Replace the fuel filter if you have one. Spray some carb cleaner in the spark plug hole as well as the air intake (remove the air filter). Let this set for awhile and then try to crank again. Add an ounce or two of seafoam or B12 Chemtool to your fuel and run until the tank is e...

Re: agpennipacker new construction lawn results

I forgot to say that 5.25 is the monthly rate for the triple 19 which winds up being 1lb/K of N (as well as P/K). So 20,000 x 5.25/K = 105lbs of triple 19 every month.

Re: sprayer recommendation

I have the Chapin 20V that I picked up from Lowes on sale last year and I matched it up with the sprayer wand that dfw_pilot discusses in this thread:

I suspect the application rate for the triple 19 will be 5.25 lbs per 1k.

Re: agpennipacker new construction lawn results

You might save some work and money by going with 19-19-19 instead of 10-10-10. Harvest Feed Mill has triple 19 for $18 per 50lb bag which is a better price that the triple 13 that I had gotten from Lowes.

I can get 13-13-13 at Lowes for the balanced fertilizer. Yes, I would like to tackle the boron/micro's this year. Thanks again for the advice!

Re: RWS 1st soil test 2017

I got the results today and I am a little bit surprised at the ph. I had a free soil analysis done locally by master gardeners and their test indicated that my soil ph was 5.9.

Re: Proplugger back online

I love my proplugger. I plan to use it soon to pull plugs to fill in a bare area where I had a tree cut and the stump ground last fall. I also used it to gather my soil sample to send in for analysis.
