Milorganite: I found where somebody said this...

I seen this written about Milorganite by a guy who says he's been doing Lawn Care for like 30 years or so (wasn't found on this site though) and thought I would post this: "It will release the iron and nitrogen in "part" as soon as it is wet the first time. The "part" that is years is that it's made...

Re: Scotts DiseaseEx - Azoxystrobin 0.31%

All this talk of Disease brought up another thought/theory in my mind. And since alot of you "seasoned veterans" like nclawnguy, Green, and others have already made replies in this post...let me ask it here: I know the Granular and Liquid Fungicides all have a "preventative" and a "curative" rate. U...

Re: Scotts DiseaseEx - Azoxystrobin 0.31%

The Application Rates for the Scotts DiseaseEx are as follows:
2lbs Per 1,000sf (Preventative Rate)
4lbs Per 1,000sf (Curative Rate)

Does this line up with the actual Heritage G application rates? I've never used Heritage G so I was hoping somebody on here would remember it's rates?

Weed I.D. ... 2,4-D/Quinclorac/Triclopyr won't kill it???

I still have 2 particular Weeds that are in my Yard and have been there since about late February this year and I have sprayed them 2 different times with a custom mix of 2,4-D, Quinclorac, Triclopyr... and still don't see any effect for some reason. At first when I kept seeing them pop back up, I t...

Scotts DiseaseEx - Azoxystrobin 0.31%

I just seen that my Lowes is carrying a new Scotts product for Disease Control called DiseaseEx (Azoxystrobin 0.31%). It comes in a 10lbs Bag and costs around $19. Which is the same Active Ingredient as Heritage G. But Heritage G comes in a 30lbs Bag and costs around $90. So you can either buy 30lbs...

Re: Ric Clint Soil Test "Spring 2018"

Thanks for the response! Alot of this is over my head but I'm trying to get the hang of it... so here's 431 questions :) What causes a really Sandy Soil like I have (this might be a dumb question)? Lack of Organic materials I'm guessing? Shouldn't there be some Organic material in the soil already f...

Ric Clint Soil Test "Spring 2018"

I'm in North Carolina... 1hour and 15minutes West of Charlotte, NC... my zip code is 28043. My yard is about 2,000sf. I have TTTF and regularly mow at 4" to 4.5". I have in-ground irrigation and water 2-3 times per week in the dead of Summer. As far as my goals for the lawn/soil, to me looks is ever...

Re: Crabgrass this early in the year???

Yeah I just wasn't sure. Here in NC, we were having some really warm temps all throughout February, so I was thinking some Crabgrass might have started poking through. And then the seed head on the plant really had me thinking maybe it was Crabgrass. What other grasses looks similar to this if this ...

Crabgrass this early in the year???

I meant to post these 2 Pics last week when I took them but haven't had the time. I took these 2 Pics last week on March 3rd... is this "mature" crabgrass ALREADY??? In the Pics, you can see that my TTTF is still somewhat asleep by looking at all the white and yellowish surrounding grass. I didn't t...

Sending a Soil sample to Logan Labs...

When you send in a Soil sample to Logan Labs, I'm guessing you just do the one that is $25.00? Is there anything specific I need to ask to be included... like Micros or anything? It seems like I read somewhere on this forum a while back where a member on here was told to ask for something when he di...

Re: Worth hitting POA in Spring with Tenacity

Not trying to hijack this thread... but would the Tenacity that's in Scotts Granular fertilizer be as effective for POA as the Liquid Spray? Just wondering?

Dimension and Tenacity Apps for this year

Just wanting to get some opinions on this years Lawn Schedule... does this look fine: The LESCO 0-0-7 Dimension 0.10% says the following: DO NOT apply more than 11.47lbs of this product per 1,000sf per application , and no more than 34.41lbs of this product per 1,000sf per year . Those of you who ha...

What's best to use in the "pots"?

It seems like most people when doing a renovation will also do some pots of the same seed cultivars so that if there are any rain washouts or thin areas later, that they can then transplant the pots into the yard if needed. So my question is what do you all generally use in the pots? Anything you ca...

Re: Weed Control DIDN'T kill this weed... what is it?

It was just a custom mix, meaning they were in 3 separate bottles before I mixed them. I don't have my paper with me right now... but I think I mixed it like the following: Measurements were per 1-Gallon mix rate: Alligare 2,4-D ............ 1oz Quinclorac 75 DF .... .367oz WBG Triclopyr ..............

Re: Wrong cultivars sent, what would you do?

Wait, wait, wait... I called Hogan's 2-3 weeks ago asking for the Paramount and they told me they won't be getting any this year because it wasn't "clean" and then I asked for the Cochise IV and they said they were out of that also and it would be a week or so before they got that one so I called ag...

Re: Weed Control DIDN'T kill this weed... what is it?

I'm guessing this is just some ol' Common Bermuda grass species... probably been growing here hundreds of years. So does the Elite Bermuda cultivars develop Seed Heads like this or is it just the Common Bermuda types?

I've never really seen any Bermuda have Seed Heads like this?

Thanks!

Re: What a "AG Rep" for Lowes told me today...

Thanks for the input! I'm trying to learn all I can about this. A couple of questions: 1.) So you're saying that the Bayer Advanced Complete Insect Killer is a "wide-spectrum insecticide"? Is that because of the Imidacloprid that's in it? As compared to other Insecticides (like maybe Dylox, etc.) th...

Re: Weed Control DIDN'T kill this weed... what is it?

Well, if these Seed Heads are actually Bermuda... does that mean that the Seeds can blow over into my yard and actually germinate?
