Toro Super Recycler 20043 Spring Arm Replacement
I bought a super recycler for $20 and I am restoring it and need to replace the rear spring arm. I have the wheel off and the gear but can't get the spring arm off to replace it. Any tips? Thanks! https://i.postimg.cc/kDN7Knrx/IMG-20190607-121614.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/18dSsX6Z/IMG-20190607-121619...

Re: What's the difference between a cheap lawn tractor and a pricey one?
I never said anything about the different quality of the same D or E series from the big box or at the dealership. Although I would still always buy at the dealership for their service and knowledge and availability of parts when needed. It's your money and time. There's nothing wrong with using wh...

Re: Kbgfarmer's new lawn establishment
Have you used certainty before on the quackgrass? I see it's labeled for warm season grasses so does it kill off your kbg? Or is your thinking that it won't kill off as much as glypho hopefully? I have quackgrass in my kbg/prg randomly throughout the yard too because I had an empty lot next to me go...

Re: What's the difference between a cheap lawn tractor and a pricey one?
I would rather pay for a used X series than a new D series at the big box store. I also would use a good walk behind like a Honda HRX(Used to have one) than a cheap ride on that rips the grass blade or leaves strips of uneven mow. You're doing too much work and put into too much time and money to r...

Iowa Soil Test April 2019
12,000 sq ft lawn of mostly PRG and KBG with some TTTF mixed in there. I already put down 1.6lbs/1000 of elemental sulfur last week to start lowering PH. Test is from Spectrum Analytics and has the same info Logan Labs has. Thanks! https://i.postimg.cc/q6B1G4pP/Screen-Shot-2019-04-15-at-2-31-53-PM.p...

Re: Iowa Renovation
It's doing okay. It definitely stopped growing about a week or two ago. My main regret is that I didn't kill it all off because now I'm noticing spots that I missed of fescue.

Re: Iowa Renovation
Looks good. I like the stone border and nice improvised sprinkler set up. Do you have those on a timer? Where did you purchase the seed from? Thanks! Came up with the sprinkler system from Ryan Knorr on YouTube and have it hooked up to a Melnour 4 valve timer that works great. Bought the seed from ...

Here is an update. Killed off the KY31 and some other heavy fescue areas. https://i.postimg.cc/yJd0Jzdg/IMG_20180827_073557.jpg Dethatched and planned to aerate but the aeration timing didn't work out. https://i.postimg.cc/bGWSsDWW/IMG_20180908_130611.jpg Seed down on Sept. 6th KBG Award Bewitched M...

I bought the pro plugger and it works great for moving a lot of plugs really quickly.

Ordering that right now then. Thanks!HoosierLawnGnome wrote: ↑May 14th, 2018, 3:42 pmThe Pro Plugger is the best option out there in my opinion. I've used a cheaper one and it broke after one renovation. Go quality!

Sod Plug Cutter
Does anyone have any good experience with a sod plug cutter? I found this one on Amazon but not sure I want to pay $30 for something I won't use that much. https://www.amazon.com/Yard-Butler-Augustine-Centipede-SP-33/dp/B000CSXJR6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1526317349&sr=8-3&keywords=soil+plug&dpID=317k...

Re: Iowa Renovation
I'm going to try and hit the clumping fescue with roundup this summer when the KBG/rye goes dormant. Hopefully that will help from damaging the KBG/rye.

Re: Iowa Renovation
Did you get rid of most of the clumps by spot spraying round up? Using plugs is a good idea for when I can pull the clumps out. I did multiple passes of aeration 2 weeks ago and added a bunch of great compost to this part of the yard. Then seeded with a mix of PRG and KBG and threw down some starter...

Re: Iowa Renovation
Here is a picture from the beginning of last fall of the front yard that I'm trying to fix. Some of it is struggling because I had to have parts of my driveway ripped up because of a sump line issue. This picture shows that I used some glyphosate to remove some of the clumping fescue that ended up i...

Re: Evergreen Transplant
Looks good. You'll have no problem with that. Pines tend to lose their lower branches naturally as they age, although less so when they're out in the open like that. Just limb up the offending branches as the tree gets bigger. If you had said it was a pine in the first place, I probably would have ...

Re: Honda HRX 217 Suction issue
If you get the front wheels to 2.5'' and rear to 3'', or vice verse, do you get a cut in between 2.5'' and 3''? I would think you would get a 2.5" cut for the most part but there might be parts that the front doesn't hit well and then you are cutting up to the 3". On the D130, John Deere suggests d...
