What are the cultivars in your blend? The established parts look really nice.

Re: Is Your Lawn Waking Up Yet?
So far this summer just Milorganite. It looks like we’ve entered another spring flush growth phase. Top growth is rapid and color is lighter green. Not just me either, it’s area wide.

I love that color you’re getting. Wished Bewitched looked like that in my soil. Looks excellent!

Blue Velvet Monostand Farm Fence line
2 weeks ago I went seed down on a strip of dirt between my property and the farmers crops. He got a little nuts with the glyphosate this spring and smoked a bunch of turf I had previously worked real hard to establish. During the kill I encountered a glyphosate resistant weed called Palmer amaranth....

Re: Black spots on maple leaves
Thanks. She lives next to a campground so I’ll have to check those trees out. I doubt the campground owners would engage in removing the leaves, but I’ll let her know they need to LEAVE the area.

Re: RCLawn's 2018 Fall Reno
A pass or two with a basic leaf rake to fluff it up is what I’d do. That matting is somewhat typical after hard rains. It forms a crust almost. Like Andy said, just have to pick a plan and execute.

Re: Nick's 2017 Renovation
Thanks jfd. Out in Western Iowa it sounds like a real mess this season and I feel for you. Here’s a picture of the front portion. It’s Bewitched monostand. Not seeing that deep dark green that Bewitched is capable of. I’ve got a soil ph around 8 and it’s only had 1 serving of Milo this year. The uni...

Re: What challenges are different this year?
Weather has been difficult. Too hot too early. Normally there is a wider window of time that is called spring. All of the late spring fertilization didn’t happen. All year long I’ve been watching for a couple week stretch where I could feed some N but I haven’t had many.

Re: Nick's 2017 Renovation
Had a baby this spring so I’ve been pretty busy with that. The Reno has done very well. The color is pretty poor even with highly rated NTEP cultivars. That’s a soil issue. The weather this year has really made getting Nitrogen down a real struggle. It’s been too hot for Milo even. It’s been watered...

Re: Nick's 2017 Renovation
Nothing too interesting to report. I’m just struck by the seed head production I’m seeing in the 2017 Reno versus the 2016. All the white look is seeds heads with rain on them. This renovation has shaped up a lot better than the 2016 one. https://s7.postimg.cc/qejjaco07/D4239_DC5-3_D65-4_F36-_B40_D-...

Unclump the dirt around the roots. That tells you part of the story.
