Re: Cut quality & Fungal??? Issues

Unfortunately, I can’t offer a solution but instead just empathy. Your posted photos could be replicated easily with just one step into my own yard. I’ve sent two samples to KSU. The first sample from early August 2018 was Ascochyta, which I suspect was secondary due to the turf being compromised fr...

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

The deer wandered in the yard Tuesday night and started in on my brand new bald cypress trees. Out of desperation, I top dressed my snow last night with milorganite as I needed something to hold me over until my Amazon order of Bobbex arrived today. Should have known to check here first, of course t...

Re: KSUDVM 2018 mini reno

I plan on acquiring Bayers 24 Hour Grub Killer Plus tomorrow. Seems to be a fairly broad insecticide considering I don't have a definitive identification.

Re: KSUDVM 2018 mini reno

As a follow up to the above: I held off on any fungicide in order to allow another 24 hours to confirm my suspicion of fungus. Fortunately, I had my reservations. I was out evaluating after sunset and noticed in my patches of concern that several blades of grass were moving despite no wind. I've got...

Re: KSUDVM 2018 mini reno-fungus help

Seed down date was Sept 6; used an 8#/K rate. Followed up with a light topdress with compost to hopefully help with my thatch as well. Rolled then applied recommended tenacity rate for renos (4 ounce/acre). I had germination on Sept 11. I was watering 4x/d for six minutes until yesterday when I adde...

Re: KSUDVM 2018 mini reno--Thatch?

I hesitated to even make a thread as there are so many good threads out there to use as a template; however, I ran into one hiccup I am hoping the gurus can help with. After scalping, I was walking the renovation after a quick 1-inch rainstorm. I encountered several areas holding water like a sponge...

KSUDVM 2018 mini reno

Threads of significance: 2018 Reno Soil Test and my Ascochyta leaf blight issues. After the damage done from the proper burial of my last downspout to the street and the hit from my Ascochyta leaf blight, I elected to perform this mini renovation on a small 800 square foot section of the front yard....

Re: Ascochyta leaf blight

#@%&!!! Those May pictures look so great! I'm sorry for your loss. I'm almost leaning towards fighting the disease vs. a full reno, if that is at all possible. I'd hate for you to go through the efforts of a reno and then have the same disease return. Do you happen to know if the turf tends to reco...

Re: Ascochyta leaf blight

I’m curious if Lawns get this once and done or can it come back year after year? I hear you on the frustration I have lots of hours and money into my lawn and still have issues such as weeds to resolve so the result isn’t correlated to the input.... yet It’s the bane of being a lawn nut. Granted I ...

Re: Ascochyta leaf blight

I feel for you. I have no experience with Asochyta leaf blight. Have you been able to find any guidance as to if there is a way to eliminate in permanently so that it is less likely to come back next year? Every reference indicates disease doesn't destroy the crown, just the leaves. It's for this r...

Ascochyta leaf blight

I’m posting to hopefully get some feedback from someone with more experience then I in regards to ascochyta leaf blight. We closed on our house in Kansas City July 2015 and a mixed TTTF/KBG sod was laid summer of 2015. Having irrigation resulted in a fairly successful take for the sod. I first start...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sent off a turfgrass sample to KSU for disease identification. Despite the disease and severe drought in the region, the yard keeps growing, so it got a fresh cut at 3". Sprayed my annuals with spinosad to keep the caterpillars from eating the flowers/buds. Mother Nature always has something to keep...

Looks like Minnesota Wanner was bought out by, or was simply renamed, Altec Spray Equipment. You undoubtedly already know that. You can find the CF Valves on the Spray Equipment/Booms & Nozzles/Calibration Aids page.
Thanks so much. I'm embarrassed my Google-fu skills failed to find that.
