Re: What are you paying for Urea this year?
Yikes, well seems I win the prize for highest price paid. Based on the advice of this site I went in search of urea for the first time to use as my winterize this year. A quick google search revealed a sod and lawncare supply business 5 minutes from work that showed 46-0-0 urea in stock. Bingo. Bas...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Updated my 2012 application history . Most notably, I decided to roll the dice and apply Andy's micro nutrient recommendations (borax and copper sulfate) via my Earthway S15 sprayer at the same time as applying Lesco Stonewall. Obviously this is a "do at your own risk" excersize but to report my own...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Priority one job done. Got the tree cut up and off the lawn. Now time to pick the leaves off so they can be spread and mulch mowed into the lawn. This while continuing to cut up and dividing into small, medium, and large size pieces for future use in the fire pit to subsidize $5 bundle purchases at ...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Yikes! Sorry to hear about your tree and roof. I got pretty lucky here on the west side. I sat in the doorway watching one of the trees in the front yard snap all It was quite the storm to watch. I got to see most of it from the freeway driving home from work. Talk about turning from daylight into ...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Wow, that must have been some windage! The winds tore a number of branches off my tulip tree, which is rather young, so it looks rather bad right now. But at least it didn't break! Yep, it was! My wife was watching the tree sway and then saw it come down. I haven't seen any other trees in our neigh...

Re: Kentucy Bluegrass Life Span
I like the idea of an agressive cultivar monostand. If the agressive cultivar will eventually (even if slowly) overtake those that are not as agressive and you don't need to overseed due to the indefinite lifespan that seems to solve my long term purity concern from a maintence perspective. You ment...

Re: Kentucy Bluegrass Life Span
Andy, thanks as always for the input. It sounds like properly maintained KBG has an indefinite life span and overseeding may not ever be necessary. FWIW all three questions were "real" and I would think anyone considering a renovation would want to weigh. To give some insight into the intent of the ...

Kentucy Bluegrass Life Span
How long does properly maintained KBG live? Another way to ask the question for all of you that have elite healthy lawns... how many years until you hit the your KBG end of life and you will need to overseed? Another way to ask the question... if you have a common KBG lawn and want to gradually tran...

Bingo! Everyone is better off knowing where the markers are... as someone else said it is what it is. Congrats and I'm sure you have peace of mind now!MorpheusPA wrote:But I do notice that they only cut to the spray-painted line this time.

Re: Finding a Property Marker?
So far my detector has gotten a total of 15 minutes of use... and it will probably remain that way until my 2 year old becomes old enough to tinker... but I'd do it over again in a heartbeat. Nothing like uncovering that little yellow cap when you've never seen it before!

Best advice I can give is posted here.
Best of luck. Knowing exactly where the markers are is a huge peace of mind.

Re: Earthway S15 Sprayer Review
Mine has way over 32oz left before it starts to sputter... more like 1 - 1.5 gallons. I dump the excess in a pump sprayer to finish. It's always extra effort to keep an eye on the spray to identify when it starts to sputter.

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
I've been doing micronutrient applications for ten years with the granular approach, because hose-end sprayers are too crude, and I didn't do any testing of foliar applications with any precision sprayers. It might work, but I only provide recommendations for what I have thoroughly tested. I unders...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
I don't recommend spray applications of micronutrients - with such small amounts to be applied, it is difficult to get them applied at the consistent rate. Thanks for that tip... I'm (respectfully) just trying to make sense of that in my head and come to the same conclusion. For those of us who hav...

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Thanks Andy for the micro recommendations. Anyone think it would be a bad idea to mix all of this into one spray application? * 20 Mule Team Borax * copper sulfate * LESCO 088511 Momentum FX2 * ferrous sulfate I applied the second Milorganite and potassium sulfate app of 2012 today ( updated log ). ...

Morph are you in maintenance mode or correction mode with all those apps? Good info that might help set expectations for those who are evaluating the long term commitment of an elite lawn.

Re: jason's Lawn Thread with Logan Labs Report
Yup, Boron and Copper. Twenty Mules and Copper Sulfate go onto the shopping list. I picked up a box of 20 Mule Team Borax today and three pounds of copper sulfate is ordered and en route. How much of each do you recommend? Since I have an S15 sprayer that I trust with precise applications and both ...
