Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

I dropped Oceangro bag rate yesterday before the afternoon storm. First nitrogen I've applied since June. I usually drop Oceangro (or Milo) every month from May-August but I decided to give it a rest during our very hot June-July. Lawn is looking a bit tired so hopefully this starts to wake it up be...

Re: oceangro April sale

My local nursery I usually get my bags from every April just opened up and I plan in taking a drive by at the end of the week to see if they have any in stock.

Mowed yesterday and didn't notice any growth in a week so winterizer went down and my season is complete!

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Watered all zones 1" of water early this morning using my timer. I've noticed some sections of the front (near my driveway and sidewalks) getting brown even though I've properly watered and mowed this summer. I guess it is unavoidable for some of that grass!

Re: Are you up to the max height of cut for your lawn yet?

Currently at 4" with my TTTF. Just raised from 3.5". I bounce between 3.5-4" but was trying to go strictly with 4" this year to see if it helps with some of the burnout I get near my sidewalk.

Re: Question about all this rain and fall fertilizer

Fall fertilizer is more effective than just greening the grass up, it is helping it grow the roots deeper and make the grass stronger. The rain will not effect that. Milo is safe to put down whenever. I put it down in the Spring after putting fall fertilizer down after top growth as stopped. I use i...

Just did a weeknight mow. I’m needing to mow every 3-4 days at this point to keep up. Raised my HOC to 4”. Enjoying a White Claw and looking at my freshly cut TTTF.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Got my first legit mow in today at 3.75". Had done a clean up low mow last week. Grass is looking good expect for the Poa Annua spots that always show up in the same spots. I kill them with Tenacity in Spring, do a fall pre-M and they still keep coming back. I don't get it.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Let’s not hijack the thread. Start a new one, if you like. But in summary, Oceangro sells for $7.99 a bag during April (for a 45 pound bag). People buy it now for later use. Correct. I bought what I needed to get me into September. I'm glad I found the location in Cream Ridge. Last year I drove to ...

Picked up some OceanGro for $7.99 per bag. Threw some down before rain tonight.
Did you get it at Ferris or somewhere else? Thanks.
I got this at Good Earth Nursery in Cream Ridge, NJ.

In Central NJ buds have been trying to bloom for weeks but the bush I use as my judge bloomed over the past few days so I put down Pre yesterday.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Yesterday I mowed and bagged for last time of the year. Cleaned off mower, ran out the remaining fuel and rearranged the shed to put mower away and bring snowblower out.

Dropped winterizer before the rain. That’s a wrap on 2018.

More rain tomorrow morning with temps dropping for days afterward. Since I will be away for the next 10 days, decided to drop winterizer today.
Same general area as you. I mowed yesterday and noticed no growth since last mow 10 days ago. Dropped winterizer before the rain came.

3" is the lowest I go with my HOC. I drop it down from 3.5-4" to 3" after first frost and keep it that length until the end of the season.

Is there a viable option for getting Urea online and not paying an arm and a leg for shipping? My local Site One closed last year.
