Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2023
Hi Morph, Just over 2 weeks ago, I dropped the fast-acting gypsum at what-ended-up-being 9.7 lbs/K and then received 0.25" rain. There hasn't been any meaningful rain since then (again, I irrigate my small front yard, but not the bulk of the acre in the backyard). So far, no bleaching at all. Lookin...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2023
Thanks Morph and Andy, I'll go ahead and try the 10 lbs/K gypsum and report back on how it goes! Quick question, given the Ca and Mg numbers haven't really moved with the previous gypsum apps at 5 lbs/K (and apologies in advance if these questions don't make sense - as we go along, I'm trying to lea...

Thanks for those clarifications. Now all we need are some ATY-branded mortars and pestles! I really appreciate your help, Morph and Andy - thank you!

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2022
Thanks, Morph! Phosphorus and potassium both need to go up, which is why on the 19-19-19, and calcium can rise while magnesium can fall, hence the gypsum. You can continue at 6 pounds if you want, or raise the amount if you prefer. Go as high as 10 if you like. When you say go as high as 10, are you...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2021
Sounds good, Andy. I'll repeat the plan this year. Wish the "astounding" aspect of my soil was a better kind of astounding... If you need any Epsom salt, just let me know. Thanks again very much for your time helping me!

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2020
Hi Andy, First, as always, thanks so much for your time to help with my soil test interpretation, especially right now with everything that’s going on and the situation you described in your “Running a Little Behind on Soil Test Interpretations” post. I hope your wife and household are continuing to...

JPack's Soil Test Results - 2020
Hi ST6! My 2020 soil test results are below. I followed your soil remediation plans in 2016 – 2018 at my old house. Late 2018, I took a new job and was in transition between old and new locations until end of summer 2019 when I bought my current house. Due to that situation, I had to take 2019 off o...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2018
OK, great - thank you TimmyG! I was wondering if Sta-Green had fallen off the list in the past month for some reason. Glad to hear it's still good. Also, just fyi, I had guessed at the 12 lbs/K based on the last few posts in this interpretation: https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2018
Also, here are a couple pics that I took of the label in case they help. At the bottom of the bag, it says "guaranteed by solu-cal." I figured the reason why you included Sta-Green as a recommended lime in that interpretation I linked to above is because it is just rebranded solu-cal? https://s17.po...

Thanks. I guess I got mixed up? I had decided on Sta-Green based on your recent opinion in this interpretation: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23620&p=319739&hil ... en#p319739

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2018
Hey Andy, I'm sorry work has been so busy for you lately. Just wanted to follow-up with you on the above and see if you agree that the Sta Green Rapid Lime will work for me this year, and if so, what the rates will be for the 18-24-6 and the lime? Will it be 5 lbs/K monthly (except July & August dor...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2018
Andy, I'm with you on the potassium issue and overall approach to caring for the soil, so I'll go with the 18-24-6. My source for the Pennington lime was 45 minutes away, and I don't have any bags on hand now to send a picture of the current label. However, after reading more about the Pennington li...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2018
Thank you Andy! I have two options for readily available starter fertilizer: either 18-24-12 or 18-24-6. I would prefer to use the 18-24-12 because it is $10-$15 less per 50 lb bag, but if that potassium number is too high, I can afford to use the 18-24-6 too. For lime, I have always used Pennington...

Re: JPack's Soil Test Results - 2017
First, thank you very much Andy! Gotta love progress and moving in the right direction. I'll repeat my same schedule from 2016 with 19-19-19 at 5 lbs/K and calcitic lime at 9 lbs/K. For iron, I would love to do regular Milo, but yeah, that cost thing.... Even waiting and getting my season's supply d...
