Re: timing of top dress / overseeding in NC
Wow, ok. I struggle to keep the existing fescue alive in the high 90s - how do you stop seedlings from being toast?

dead grass when reseeding
Hi,
I have a reasonable amount of dead fescue that last year prevented seed from taking root.
Does aeration generally break it up enough to allow good seed contact? Or should I insist that the landscaper rake it all really well?
Thanks!

Re: timing of top dress / overseeding in NC
Wow ok - everyone locally is telling me they don't seed yet due to the heat. We just exited 95 degree weather. Is it possible to seed with those kind of temps?

timing of top dress / overseeding in NC
Hi, I have a year-old lawn that is surrounded by trees and thus we get a ton of leaves. I overseeded last year but suffered due to leaves on the seedlings, so want to top dress (on clay) and overseed early (Triple Threat TTTF). Temps are dropping tomorrow - will have a high of 85 over the next 10 da...

Gotcha.
Do you have a recommended starting point for a herbicide to take it out in TFFF?

Hi, Can anyone recommend something that will treat this selectively? Re: Tenacity vs Poa Trivialis: Your Results
Tenacity is not labeled for triv or annua. Just so everyone knows I am only seeing what results I can get from my own personal experiment. I applied tenacity + triclopyr in 3 day intervals for 3 total applications to my triv and annua spots. If nothing happens, no big deal, I will kill off in the f...

Man, you had my hopes up!
Andy, is your experience the same as MorpheusPA with Tenacity and Triv? And do you agree that I'm actually fighting Triv from what you see above? Any other advice?

Ugh . Still trying to forgive the guy who put down the non-weed preventer starter fertiliser last year and let all this in! Here’s another pic of it pulled: https://i.postimg.cc/LhYx93nb/57-EF8994-16-E9-486-A-B5-C4-E9-FFAC43-B4-D6.jpg Will repeated spot spray of Tenacity eradicate? Or do I need to g...

New house build lawn questions
Hi, We just closed on purchasing some land in Raleigh, NC and are starting to design a home. It's a heavily wooded lot (hardwoods), so we'll be clearing a portion around the home for the lawn. The house will almost certainly face South, with north-facing back yard. With the surrounding area heavily ...

Advice on overseed timeline in Raleigh (still blazing hot!)
Given the blazing hot temperatures that seem to run deep into September here in the Raleigh area (and the hurricanes / storms that can decimate seed), I'd love some advice on when is typically the optimum time to lay seed down around here? I believe it's based on soil temp, but what is that temp and...

Not sure if I still have it, but it was extremely high quality with no weeds etc and 3 of the highest Fescue on the NTEP.
