Re: Planting Bermuda P77 over Perennial Rye

Don’t do it!!! We built our house in Granbury (near Fort Worth) 3 years ago. We have six legs pecan trees on a little under .75 acres. The Bermuda does alright in the spring, but as the summer progresses it gets super thin. Then it’s weed city in the fall. Once those trees get leaves the grass under...

Re: My baroness(s) adventure / rookie mistake

Enjoy your mowers. I would love to take one of those off your hands, but the funds and the wife often don't see eye to eye with me.

Re: Husqvarna HU700H Mowing height

I haven't contacted the store. I purchased the mower 4 months ago so returning it isn't an option. Are there any blades/attachments that can lower the blade?

Husqvarna HU700H Mowing height

I recently purchased this lawn mower from Lowes and I'm upset that I didn't pay attention to the lowest height setting :blackeye: . Online they say the mower can cut at 1.1" I have tif 419 Bermuda and I would love to scalp my lawn next year and maintain at one inch. Is there anything I can do to thi...

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?

Mowed the yard a little higher than usual to start prepping for wonder. Put down 100 pounds of hi yield pre-emergent and put down about 1/2" of water. Hopefully this keeps the weeds at bay during the winter. I have 50 pounds of 34-0-0 that I will put out in the backyard later this week. One last pus...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

I'm about to go get some more fertilizer to finish me out until the end of the year. I know there is a lot of post out there about pre-emergent, but what non spray pre-emergent do you guys like? I would like to try to keep the cost down since I have uncertainty with my job. Thanks for the help guys ...

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics

The yard is coming around, but I have some dry spots. Hopefully we can get some rain (over one month since it has rained). It's feels good to know I'm greener than the golf course across the street from me. https://s10.postimg.cc/os6yhlu9h/image.jpg https://s10.postimg.cc/d4hi0suid/image.jpg [ Post...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

The sod is really starting to look good. Even in the 100+ degree heat we have had for the last month I'm not having very many trouble spots. The seed on the other hand is not doing so well. I have decent growth, but I have stickers everywhere! With that being said I have a couple questions. The sod ...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

I know the Hydromulch need to stay slightly damp for the better part of a month, but how long until I can move to once a day watering of the sod? The sod was put down on Tuesday and the roots are just starting to take hold. [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/iPho...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

Nice looking yard sain6815! I got the yard sprayed yesterday. I've been trying to keep the hydromulched area damp and my sod soaked. i can't wait to have a nice yard (in a couple years). Landscapers come next week to put in rest of the landscaping. https://s32.postimg.cc/xrbzd35a9/image.jpg [ Post m...

The area in the last picture is where the Hydromulch is going to go. The site will be stripped and they should be spraying this Friday. I ...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

Half an acre of irrigation was installed. I'm not too excited to see my first water bill, but I'm very ready to have some grass! I haven't mowed in over 8 months and I sort of miss it.

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

So after a long delay in our house being completed and a bunch of rain the new yard is coming soon. We decided to do part sod part Hydromulch. The sod will be tif419 and then Sahara for the Hydromulch. We will sod the front yard and the backyard and Hydromulch the side yards. I wanted to do princess...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

Not sure what seed I will be putting out yet, but I will be Hydromulching the yard the first of May. I hope the hot dry Texas summer can hold off a little for me so my wife doesn't die when she sees the water bill. I also found a used McLain reel mower for $125. It looks beat up, but if it still run...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

Thanks guys. The local turf companies want $200 a pallet for tif and $100 per pallet to install. Knowing that I will be needing at least 25 pallets turned me off to having a sodded yard. I was quoted $.07 a square foot plus seed to have the yard hydromulched. Thanks for the info on Maya grass. Anyon...

Re: Hydromulching Princess 77

Thank you. I hope one day my yard looks like a lot of them on here! Last question: anyone have a recommendation on a company to use in the Dfw area? Right now I'm thinking of using Texas Hydromulch. Anyone use them before? [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/iPhon...

Hydromulching Princess 77

Hello group. I have been reading the boards for the better part of two months and this is my first post. Here is the background: We are building a new house in Granbury, TX (about 30 miles southwest of Fort Worth). We have a large yard (.50 acres) so I will be Hydromulching the yard in order to save...
