Thank you Andy,
Roger that. No mas SOP and I’ll keep hunting for soybean meal.

Re: agn015 2023 Soil Test
Thank you Andy, It feels good to be getting close! I’ll box up the micros but are you saying I should skip the 0-0-50 this year too? Or would 2-3 apps of SOP this year be okay? I’m thinking something like now, June and September. It would definitely feel strange to skip SOP. I’m leaning towards usin...

agn015 2023 Soil Test
Hello around the yard, It’s good to be back for 2023! This is now my 8th test and the results appear more in line with 2021’s and the historical trend. I was able to avoid using any chemical fungicides last year and hope I can do it again this year. Sprinklers were finally installed in September and...

Re: Best lawn soil conditioner questions.
Last time I ordered SLS from here. It cost me $38 for 5lbs including shipping. I still have plenty left.

Re: Urea Supply
There’s plenty of places on Long Island to get urea too. Which part are you from? I usually get it from maxwells in Wyandanch or all pro in Lindenhurst. If I were you I’d use my time in NJ to pick up some ocean gro (NJs brand of milorganite). It’s only $8/bag for the month of April. I just grabbed a...

Re: Agn015 2022 results
I know I did take a few less samples than normal. Probably around 30 over the whole yard instead of 40. Maybe that’s it since historically my tests are always consistent. I started using humic dg too but that probably just adds a few more ounces locked. I’ll consider sending a few separate samples i...

Agn015 2022 results
Hello around the yard friends! This is my 7th year now and I’m happy to see I finally moved into a sandy loam with acceptable levels of OM! I’m not sure why potassium levels dropped despite putting down 4lbs/k for the year. I’m pretty good at sampling so I doubt it an error. Could the potassium be l...

Patch, Pythium or something else?
Earlier this year I had some issues with leaf spot that I thought were under control after curative rates of azoxystrobin and propiconazol. Then (3) 3oz/k serenade apps. That thread can be found here. https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26692 I believe this is the same disease cycl...

I have a source on Long Island but I’m not sure if you want to make that trip!

Re: Left spot/melting out - When to go Nuclear?
That’s a good point on the serenade Morpheus. I was thinking the azoxy would kill the bacteria in serenade, but it sounds like the serenade just has to stay on the leaf to be effective in preventing the bad guys from colonizing. The nu film will certainly help with that. I’ll keep the serenade flowi...

Re: Left spot/melting out - When to go Nuclear?
Thanks, hopefully I don’t have to keep reaching for them. I’m a fan of cracked corn too. I’ve put it down for the last couple years starting at 10lbs/k and this year was my heaviest at about 30lb/k. If it’s helping keep the disease at bay I can only imagine how bad it would be without it. Some areas...

Re: Left spot/melting out - When to go Nuclear?
Thank you Morph! It sounds like now is a good time to nuke! This will be my first time using a real fungicide. Do you have any recommendations on which one I should use? I’ll have to do some more research on this too. I’ve been very hesitant to reach for fungicides as I always see Andy posting about...

Left spot/melting out - When to go Nuclear?
I’ve been battling what I think is leaf spot/melting out for the last couple of years. Here’s some pictures of what I have at the moment. The lawn was seeded/over seeded between fall of 2017 and fall of 2018 so it’s still fairly young for kbg and tttf. https://i.postimg.cc/VJSNMNL1/0-D8-A108-C-125-A...

Re: Cabinet maker sawdust
Tractor Supply sells pelletized bedding 40lb bag for $5.99. I used it last year, although it went through the spreader a little slowly. Yes, I’ve used that before but as Morph said it’s not free so the price quickly adds up when I’m trying to cover 12k sqft. The pellets do flow through the spreader...

Re: Cabinet maker sawdust
I’m excited! I’ve got my beer and snacks ready to watch the show!
I do get a lot of leaves in the fall too so it will be nice to see them disappear a little faster.
7 days ago I put down just over 30lbs/k of cracked corn and a little urea. Maybe that will be enough to help speed up the process.

Re: Cabinet maker sawdust
Thank you Morph! I’ll pass on the Columbia products guy, at least until we decide to redo our kitchen! Sounds like he has the potential to do some quality work. I picked up two large garbage bags full of saw dust from the other source today. I filled up one load in the spreader and it flowed okay. T...

Re: Cabinet maker sawdust
Thanks Andy, I hope I don’t get too carried away. I’ll plan to start slowly and ramp up as the herd develops an appetite for the stuff. I haven’t picked up any dust just yet but hopefully I get a call soon. Thank you for all of those details Morph! I suspect the backing is fine too. It looked like c...
