Re: 2017 Southern Lawn Pics
Cut today after 2 days of rain. https://s10.postimg.cc/wdbez9f5h/IMG_1788.jpg Is that concrete edging poured in place or did they come in sections you connected together? I want to change my edging out to something similar. I assume poured in place. They were there when we bought the house.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Mowed at the lowest height for my McLane. Not looking great, lots of brown still. Hoping the Bermuda will take off in the next week or two.

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Cut at the lowest setting on my Mclane (.25). Cutting every other day, could probably cut every day. Trimmed, and put down a bag of Milo. https://s32.postimg.cc/n89b2cdw1/image.jpg [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/iPhone.png Looks great. :good: Thank you very ...

Re: Rotary to Reel
Yep. The initial scalp is some work. A rotary mower with bag makes it a lot easier.dfw_pilot wrote:Start with the rotary and the bag if you have more than an inch to cut. Then scalp with the reel. This will cut down on all the flying debris, plus a reel won't cut really tall grass.

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
Trying to beat the seedhead blues and the heat. Upper 90s expected well into next week Turf is extremely dense and healthy right now despite the seeding. Striping isn't the best currently, but tbh I'm probably mowing too frequently because I'm trying to keep the seedheads at bay. Actual Turf is gro...

Re: Need Advice on Bermuda Lawn
Probably this week. I need to calibrate my sprayer. (Still learning about spraying properly), but looking forward to seeing what it does to the lawn. Cutting every other day now, lucky for me I am off during the summer.Redtenchu wrote:Good work, did you get the Primo down yet?

Advice to Follow
1. Yes, that's what I would do especially if the rotary has a bag to collect the clippings. 2. Via the Bestlawn Bermuda guide "Hybrid (sodded) Bermuda will grow best at 1 inch and below." I would start with .5 and move you HOC up as needed. 3. It's not too late, but it WILL LOOK BAD for a couple we...

Hope so. It wasn't bad, but I wanted to fix a few spots,lagerman72 wrote:.MedozK wrote:Cut then a little spot leveling with about 2000 pounds of sand. Sand really never goes as far as you think it should

Re: I love it when my local landscaper asks....
I had just finished cutting. There is clippings all over the street and driveway. I'm in the middle of starting my weed-eater. I hear, "Hey Bro is that AstroTurf???" I turn to see a landscape company with a huge $50-60k truck pulling another $30-40 in high end equipment and 2 twenty somethings driv...

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
I think I ordered my T-pac a lil late as I'm now mowing once a day, but I'm hoping it gets in this week! Still fighting one "leggy" area down in the front corner which came in last year and seems to just continue to hang out... Sorry for the large pic, I seem to have forgotten how to add a thumbnai...

Re: Need Advice on Bermuda Lawn
Awesome progress! Have you decided whether or not to use a PGR this season? Thanks. This is my first season following the 'Bermuda Bible' and I think it shows. Also. the first year I am keeping it cut under an inch. I bought the 8oz T-Pac and will be hitting it with that in about 3 weeks. I want to...

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Cutting every other day now. I can tell yesterday when I cut, that If I had waited one more day.. I would have cut to much off. Plan on leveling the end of June. After that I am going to put down my first ever PGR. Hoping that will help with mid-to late July and August cuttings.
