Re: Anyone else notice a lot of Rust?
Yes!! It was so bad this year for me. It's mostly gone now, but if it comes again next year, what are the best ways to treat it? I feel like it really thinned out an area that I did a small Reno on last year. I'm going to overseed that area this weekend.

Yeah, why would the last two settings be the same height. That makes no sense.

$7.99 at Menards in Lansing, MI. I plan on taking advantage of the Home Depot "meet and beat" deal as well.

Kinds of Lime
What are some of the different kinds of lime that you guys use? I know there is pelletized, dolomite, calcitic. Just curious what the preferred type is around here. If there's already a topic on this, please show me

Re: scotts lawn food walmart deals
I looked online and it's like $30. That would be quite the discount. If I could take them a link or an ad, maybe they would price match. Do you have anything like that?

Re: John's Soil Test 2016
Thanks Ken, very kind of you to help. I'll try to take the right test next year. I figured the Nitrogen recommendation was for the year, and have just started reading the fall nitrogen regimen you were talking about. Thanks again for actually helpingken-n-nancy wrote:Welcome to the site!

Re: John's Soil Test 2016
Only Logan Labs tests are interpreted - sorry. We may add another lab (we used to have two) next year. I didn't know that before I got the test. I will definitely use Logan Labs in the future. In the mean time, is there anything that stands out in the information I posted? Any help is very much app...

John's Soil Test 2016
I hope I've attached the results the way you've asked for them. I had the test done by the Michigan State University Extension (I live in Lansing). I didn't see the recommendation to use a lab that was familiar to this site until it was too late. Next time I will do that. Lastly, When filling out th...

Re: Picked up some local seed
After looking at the information in the link, and finding a cultivar that performs well in your area, where would you then buy that seed? I live outside Lansing, Mi. It seems cultivars named H99-1653 and PST-T10-18 performed the best. Where do I find these? Where are the best places to get seed from...

I'm a first-time home-owner and I'm trying to figure out how to take care of this lawn I inherited. Can you please help me identify what these weeds are? I'm pretty sure I have a northern mix of some sort, but there are a couple different grassy weeds with wide blades that I don't really like and wo...

Hi everyone, I'm a first-time homeowner and this is my first spring maintaining my own lawn. I'm trying to learn as much as I can from this site, but I have a hard time figuring out what everyone is saying because it seems like everyone speaks in code. I was hoping we could just have a thread that s...
