Re: Guisertj 2019 soil test

Oh, forgot to mention. Just did one sample this year, which was a combination of the front and back and not separate like the 2017 sample. Man, guys weren’t joking about how hard it is to increase organic matter.

Guisertj 2019 soil test

Well, I took a year off from having the soil tested but still worked at improving it in 2018. Used all organic fertilizers, Milo and soybean meal mostly. I would say dropped monthly apps. Less aggressive fall plan as well. I battled with some grub issues last year and will preventatively take action...

Re: Milorganite on sale at fleet farm for $5.60 - possible pricematch at home depot

Not all Home Depot’s will honor. Tried it with my local one and they just said no. I brought up the price match guarantee and they shook their head.
I was upset for a little while and got over it. It is normally priced @ $12.59. Can’t blame them for saying no.

Re: My lawn is a disaster

If you are going to go all in with a complete reno, if it were me, I’d bite the bullet and wait for fall. Use this spring and summer to get a game plan together, materials, and work on improving soil. You’ve lived with it since June already. And the results will speak for themselves.

Re: Prodiamine rate for northern mix lawn

I believe 2 teaspoons is somewhere close to .33 oz. so if my math is correct your 1.5 tsp will equal .25 oz. Disolve in a gallon and spread over 1k.

Cracked corn, no problem. Just thought applications of corn meal would break down quicker.

Corn Meal in Indiana

Want to start using corn meal for both anti-fungal and to begin to help with organic matter and grow the herd. Problem I am having is I can't find any corn meal. I am in Northern Indiana but travel throughout the state for work. I have contacted all local feed/ag and even agricor in Marion IN for gu...

Looking at 10-10-10 and 13-13-13. Any advantage of one over the other?
Also, do these applications need to be irrigated in? Scheduled around rainfall? Thanks.
And 19-19-19 at a local ag center.

Re: Thoughts about glyphosate being a carcinogen

I try to be as careful as I can be when applying chemicals. Also in the mixing process. Safety glasses, gloves, and if I am mixing powders I wear a mask. Can't be to careful. Also I make sure to mix according to label rates. I think there are a lot of people that think if they apply an over dosage r...

Mowed, edged. Also found and picked up some free rocks, mini-boulders, on craigslsit to be used in different areas around the landscape.

Re: Well water iron question

2 ppm will definitely stain. For those interested in treating irrigation, there are systems that use a product called "rid-o-rust". It is a chemical injection system. Easy to use with a separate irrigation well, a little more complicated when sharing irrigation and domestic from the same well.
