2x4 basics/garage storage
So now that my grass stopped growing i move on to my "winter hobby": woodworking and building nik naks. I stumbled across this little gem of a product and want to give it a quick review. You can make a custom variation of storage for a very reasonable price. 2x4 basics.com and they have all kinds of...

Re: Welcome to College Football Season!!
Ehh its all good.
All of the sudden LSU and auburn look really good, i think Alabama has a loss coming their way.
The way everyone is calling them the best ever, blah blah, that will set them up for a loss for sure.

Re: Welcome to College Football Season!!
They didn't even look mediocre in the first half, but thank you for being kind. I saw the warning signs of it last week. Urban's teams have a way of getting overconfident. But the team (very young!) learned that they have heart when pressed. I just pray they get past the only thing that matters for...

Fair enough. But their first real test and they looked mediocre at best. Alabama on the other hand.......

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Another Saturday, another 2.75" cut and another 0.5 N/k urea drop :) I also sprayed Aerify Plus one last time this year. The front lawn is looking amazing. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the high 30s have kicked things into serious overdrive. The forecast says Tuesday and Wednesday are gonna pu...

Re: Need help with an idea for my hill
Are you concerned about the sandpaper tearing up or abraising the grass? Those rear drums are mostly smooth (even the dimpled ones) to allow them to spin without tearing or scuffing the turf. I would be afraid of creating some damage if something slipped. [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheya...

Re: Need help with an idea for my hill
Just a thought but what about getting some sandpaper with adhesive backing. That should be able to grip while still being able to be easily removed, also not changing HOC very much. I have a steep hill of my own I might pick up some tomorrow and give it a shot. I've been mowing it all year with the...

Re: Need help with an idea for my hill
No go. It's flat or nothing when it comes to greens mower and a hill. Flower bed if not flat. If you want grass then you'll need a retaining wall. Nuff said. It's harsh but it's reality. Your text from wife you posted, if that was you, was hilarious. I can relate to how you feel. I want to buy a ri...

Re: Grass looking funky....
Have you tried blsc? Or even White Rain shampoo? Something to help the soil retain more water up top. I've sprayed a wetting agent twice before, i need to get off my butt and get all the stuff for blsc. Try this....http://aroundtheyard.com/soil/soil-conditioner-substitute-t4702.html?hilit=white%20r...

Need help with an idea for my hill
Inner tube or large elastic bands on the drum. Or as suggested a non skid coating painted on the drum. Don't think you will be happy with the cut quality of a hover mower since it is basically a string trimmer. Have you tried finding transport wheels that have roughly the same diameter as the drum?...

Re: Need help with an idea for my hill
No experience and just a thought.. what about applying some kind of high traction coating to the drum/drive roller? I guess it depends on how bad you are slipping right now. Might make it alittle better? [ Post made via Android ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/Android.png Mighty qui...

Need help with an idea for my hill
So i have been killing myself thinking of ways to mow my steep a$$ hill with my greens mower. Then my wife (of all people) suggested i put down a track. At first i thought she was crazy, then i got to thinking about it and it wasnt a bad idea. So my thought is to stake in 2x4s running parallel to th...

At least the wife wouldn't complain about the smell of Milorganite anymore? :) But, yes that is what I had in mind.(the stone wall not the fish wall :) ) Haha. Speaking of my wife, i'm going to post a text she sent me after i showed her a pic of the wall. She would cut my balls off if she new i was...
