Re: New to the forum, but lurked for years!
Nice looking yard! I spent quite a bit of money over the years getting my soil up to snuff, and I'm only dealing with 15k square feet. The thought of what it would have cost to deal with a yard the size of yours makes me cringe.

Re: Lawn porn, Midnight Monostand
Wow, those are great pictures congratulations! I need to stop myself from looking at pictures like this. I think I have a pretty nice lawn, but then I see these and feel totally inadequate!

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
In the front yard, my magnolia lost 95% of its leaves with the strong storm last week (very little had come down previously), and the two maples were probably 75% done. I mulch-mowed, with parts of the yard needing three passes to do the job. Those magnolia leaves are tough - even though I spread th...

Re: Weed ID help: Are both of these Spurge?
That's it! I've had a real difficult time identifying plants based on only a picture. I'm very impressed you were able to find it. Crest / Baron / Blue Angel were the three KBG varieties in the Chas. Hart "Sports Complex All-Blue Blend" but I see they've replaced them all. I haven't put down any see...

Re: Weed ID help: Are both of these Spurge?
Not surprisingly given our relative locations, I also get both of those in my yard during the summer, despite my heavy year-round applications of Dimension. I call both of them spurge, but honestly I've always wondered whether that's right. I'm interested to see if anyone knows for sure. The other "...

On a desktop it's easy: highlight the URL at the top of your screen and copy it to the clipboard (CTRL-C). Go to the Soil Test Interpretation Queue message, and paste the URL (CTRL-V) in the "Quick Reply" box towards the bottom. Post the message. Copying URLs on a phone is harder, but the process is...

Re: Dave's 2019 Soil Test
Thank you Andy! You know, I didn't even think about SBM because it's got phosphorus in it, but of course you're right that I can use it to deliver the same amount of nitrogen with less phosphorus. Also thanks for confirming SOP rather than MOP. When I insist on it, I get a lot of funny looks. One gu...

Dave's 2019 Soil Test
Hi, I'm back looking for help, primarily on the micros, after about 18 months off. I followed your advice in 2017, even though it looks like most of the micros have declined. I'm certainly very happy to take advice on the macros as well, in case my math is off. https://i.postimg.cc/zLTC2qBw/Dave-201...

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
With rain forecast for tomorrow, I finished pulling the weeds out of the yard, took a long delayed soil sample (and mailed it - will post next week), put down my second of three biweekly Milorganite applications (at which time I'll switch to urea), and lastly spread my late summer Dimension 0-0-7 ap...

Re: Velocity results so far and questions
Best of luck to you Green! If I hadn't damaged trees I'd still be trying. If you don't have anything in the vicinity that could be inadvertently harmed, there's no reason to quit. This doesn't really matter since I'm done with the Velocity experiment, but I'm curious if you've got the time to respon...

Re: Velocity results so far and questions
I'm way late to this party. I intended to post a comment on my Velocity experience about the time this post was going strong, but forgot and never saw the thread. I do not recommend Velocity for treatment of poa trivialis. I used it in 2015 and 2016, carefully following the instructions. I put down ...

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Watched 3" of rain come down in the course of a few hours. Sometimes sandy soil is worth celebrating. I've been mowing at 3.5" for the last month or so (up from 3") and the grass has never looked better in the summer. The color wasn't "right" in May/June at 3", at least not for a couple days after m...

Re: Dave's 2017 Soil Test
Thank you both! I'm glad to know that I don't need to obsess over the volatility in TEC from year-to-year and it's very nice to have less work to do than my first few years - I can focus on the poa triv and the moles (any way to magically make them kill each other?). I've got the Magnesium and Boron...

Dave's 2017 Soil Test
Hello again, this is my fifth year of requesting advice from the pros. Here are my results: https://s21.postimg.cc/7yig0tbgz/Dave_2017a.jpg If not for the very different TEC readings from year-to-year, I'd feel like I was starting to get a handle on how to manage the calcium, magnesium and potassium...

Powdery Mildew?
Hi, I've been noticing white grass blades in part of my lawn over the past couple weeks. It looks similar to the powdery mildew I get on my lilacs and peonies every year, but I've never seen it on grass before (and the infected lilacs & peonies are quite a distance from this particular patch of gras...

Re: Rabbits!
I can also attest to Liquid Fence not working on rabbits. It's very successful for me with deer, but I tried it on brussels sprouts in the spring, and the rabbits went right on eating each leaf as it sprouted.
